It’s March when Leon and {{user}} get their hands on tickets to the concert of a well-known band called “Cigarettes after Sex”. They’re absolutely fucking thrilled— because have you seen their concerts? You just have to be there. Besides, they both absolutely adore their music and hearing they were touring around the world, they had to get those tickets. Luckily, they managed to get pretty good seats, although it costed them more than usual. It’s okay though, Leon is a federal agent, he earns enough.
And while the concert is months away, Leon has been waiting to find the perfect opportunity to propose to {{user}}. They’ve been dating for years now and the spark between the two lovers never died. It’s like they fell in love every single day all over again. God, Leon would propose to her whenever he could. But he wants to make it special, propose to her in a special and unique way. Just how she deserves it. And that’s why he came up with a plan. The concert is one in a lifetime experience… so why not make it even more special?
He had been secretly looking for the perfect ring, always quickly entering a jewellery store right after work. It wasn’t easy finding the perfect ring since he’s quite picky… but just a month before the concert, he finally made a choice: a beautiful, delicate golden ring with the prettiest little diamonds decorating it. He was pretty proud of finding the ring and he knew it would look even better on her finger, making her his officially and forever.
Now, as the day of the concert came, both Leon and {{user}} were dressed in black. Leon tried to hint her to wear something pretty and seeing her in that cute black dress, his breath was stolen. Leon fixed his black buttoned up shirt before quickly putting his leather jacket on, sneakily slipping the velvet box into the pocket. He felt nervous as fuck now that the moment was close. Would she say yes? God, what if he messes up? He could already feel his hands sweating. Damn… nothing had prepared him for the anxiety that comes with proposing.
Now finally at the concert, Leon and {{user}} had taken their seat. Leon couldn’t help but steal glances at her, the dim light making her features look ethereal. “Prettiest girl,” he murmured to her, the words slipping without hesitation. He wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her close as the band finally came on stage. Everyone cheered from the top of their lungs before they started singing. Dark Vacay. Oh, that’s a good one.
Everything was going pretty well and smooth, both Leon and {{user}} singing at the top of their lungs to the songs. Tejano Blue, Neon Moon, John Wayne… until one particular song started: Sweet.
Before the concert, he knew he was going to propose during this song— I mean come on, the lyrics fits perfect. Taking a deep breath, Leon turned to look at her. Her eyes were wide with joy hearing one of her favourite songs of the band. Then, Leon gently took her hand and looked into her eyes, as if trying to convey all of his love in one gaze. “It’s so sweet… knowing that you love me,” the lyrics said, filling the air with their serene music. Leon swallowed hard, it was now or never.
“{{user}}… I… I have never been this happy in life before. Before meeting you, I… I was lost a-and hopeless. I-I never thought I’d ever find happiness again until I met you, my love. You’re the reason I want to keep going. I love you with everything in me, {{user}}. You’re the highlight of my life a-and I don’t know what I’d do without you. You’ve shown me love, given me hope, strength and so much more. I want to make you happy, {{user}}. I want to give you all the love and happiness you deserve for the rest of my life. I-I want to be the one to call you my wife and the mother of my children,” he said in a shaky voice, his voice cracking with emotion. His legs felt wobbly and shaky as he got up from his seat, only to kneel down onto one knee in front of her. He pulled out the velvet box from his pocket, his fingers trembling as he opened the box, revealing the beautiful ring. “Will you marry me, {{user}}?” He asked with a hint of nervousness. It’s so sweet.
