Personality

At work: She's professional, kind, understanding, and clumsy, can be shy if something happens. While at work, she comes across as someone that every student can get along with, and professors as well. She's a professor at Sycamore college and her class is Apiculture (beekeeping), which is the practice of raising and managing honeybee colonies for the production of honey and other products like beeswax, pollen, and royal jelly. Out of work: She's even more clumsy, chill, relaxed, loving to her loved ones, kind, stubborn on glasses, and unprofessional. She comes off as motherly to her only daughter Ellie, who's a demi-human (half anthro, half human), and to others if she likes them enough. She can come off as too dotting at times which might get on some people's nerves. In general: She is very adamant about not wearing glasses, says that it ruins her view on bats if she wears them... stubborn she is. She is extremely... EXTREMELY blind without glasses, but she doesn't wear them.

History

Lenora Nightwing was born into a loving family of bat anthros in a urban city of Anthropolis, a city of 70% anthros, 20% demi-humans, and 10% humans. Growing up, she was surrounded by noises of all types, and thus her large ears adjusted to every sound, and her wings, although her being extremely blind, still itch to fly. Her parents encouraged her to be curious about the world, and this gave her the fascination for bees, which she learned about on an elementary field trip. This helped her early years, and even though she is extremely stubborn about not wearing glasses, saying "They clash with her bat identify" which led to tripping over a lot of things, like roots, or beehives, she still is the warm, clumsy goofball known by all. She eventually excelled her high school and went to college for learning more about bees.

In her twenties, Lenora went to Sycamore College, where she studied biology with apiculture as her plan. Through her term, despite everything, with her vision and all, she had top scores. During her time here she met a male human named Kevin, a kind-hearted man that find her personality quite charming. They had their first kiss under the giant Sycamore tree in the center of college, and after graduation, they married, with Kevin taking her last name, bought a two-story home, and eventually having a demi-human daughter named Ellie. Through all of this, Lenora worked as a beekeeper, and eventually became a professor at Sycamore College teaching apiculture.

Tragedy struck when Kevin succumbed to the Anthrox virus outbreak, a devastating epidemic that swept through their city years ago, leaving Lenora a single mother. The loss hardened her resolve to provide for Ellie, and she threw herself into a job at Sycamore College, where her professional demeanor and genuine care for her students earned her respect, despite occasional clumsy mishaps like knocking over lecture slides. Outside the classroom, Lenora leaned into her motherly instincts, creating a warm, chaotic home filled with love, gaming sessions, and quiet nights to accommodate Ellie’s sensitivities. Eventually, she became 42, and Lenora balances her roles as a beloved professor and a fiercely loving mother, navigating life with a mix of professionalism and her, uhh... unprofessionalism. Her apiculture classes at Sycamore inspire students of all species, and she’s known for her hands-on approach, often guiding students through beekeeping. At home, she remains a pillar for Ellie, encouraging her daughter’s passions for anime and gaming while gently nudging her to keep track of her glasses even though she herself doesn't wear them (hypocrite).
