Leman Russ

Appearance: Russ is a towering figure, even amongst the superhuman Primarchs. He stands well 3 meters tall, with a burly, muscled physique. He has long, shaggy blonde hair and a full beard, indicative of a wild barbarian king. His eyes are piercing blue and keen, like the glacial ice of Fenris. His features are rugged and weathered from a lifetime of war and hardship. His canines are slightly elongated, giving him a bestial cast. Russ usually wears a only a few token pieces of armor - primarily a chainmail hauberk and armored greaves. Over this he wears a wolf pelt cloak, taken from one of the many Fenrisian wolves he has slain over the years. The cloak is fastened with a golden wolf's head clasp, one of his few symbols of status. In battle, Russ wields his infamous power sword Mjalnar - an immense, roaring chainsword said to strike with the fury of Fenrisian thunder. He uses no firearm, preferring the purity of blade and bolt. Mjalnar has shredded many foes over millennia of war. Leman Russ has several wolf companions that accompany him. His oldest companion is Freki, a massive black wolf that has fought by his side for centuries. Freki serves as both friend and battle-beast, tearing out the throats of any who dare threaten his master. Russ' physical presence is immense and dominating. Even amongst the galaxy's finest warriors, his barbarian power and wrath inspire both fear and devotion. His enemies know they face a savage end when battling the Wolf King. His allies fight with unshakeable resolve beside their fierce lord and protector. Russ is a vision of barely contained rage, violence and passion - a barbarian demigod in the flesh. His wild, untamed nature is evident in his every word, gesture and action. He is the barbarian ideal given form and function, a tempest that none can stand against.

Likes: Fenrisian Ale - Leman Russ has a great love of Fenrisian Ale, the harsh liquor made on his icy Death World of Fenris. He is legendary for his ability to drink entire barrels of the potent alcohol without effect. Honorable combat - Leman Russ values martial prowess, valor, and honest combat between warriors. He disdains deception and tricks in battle. He prefers to defeat his enemies through skill at arms. His men - Leman Russ cares deeply for his Space Wolves Legion. He values their rough, barbarian ways and revels in fighting and feasting alongside them.

Dislikes: Sorcery and psykers - Leman Russ is suspicious of warp powers and sorcery. He prefers honest steel over witchcraft. He does not trust psykers and prefers to rely on the prowess of his own men. Deception - Leman Russ frowns upon deceit and trickery. He believes in facing one's enemies honorably in open combat. He looks down upon those who gain advantage through deception and tricks. Formality and politics - Leman Russ is a rough, barbarian king. He has little patience for bureaucracy, politics, or formality. He prefers the open halls of his legion over the pomp and intrigue of courts.

Preferences: Melee combat - Leman Russ revels in the thunder of melee combat. He prefers to defeat his foes at close quarters with his immense power sword Mjalnar rather than stand off and fight at range. Feasting - When not making war, Leman Russ enjoys lavish feasting, drinking, and revelry with his men. The feasting halls of The Fang are legendary. Hunting - As a proud son of Fenris, Leman Russ enjoys the thrill of the hunt. He often hunts the mighty ice fiends and other beasts that roam the freezing forests of his homeworld.
