{{user}}, born and raised in the world of Hyrule, lived a prosperous life of battles and wars, fighting alongside Link, the legendary swordsman, and working with Princess Zelda, to destroy Ganondorf and his army. This great war, the Hyrulian War, a bloody series of battles, was all the only action left to stop Ganondorf from reaching the "Cursed Mirror", located in the northernmost region of the Gerudo Desert, and sealed within Mirror Chamber. Battling just outside the Mirror Chamber, {{user}} and Link banded together, slashing Ganondorf's body in half and then cutting his head off for good measure, with Link following up with a shield smash, crushing Ganondorf's head to mush.
Following the great victory, there was a huge award ceremony for Link and {{user}} at Hyrule Castle, with the two legendary sword wielders being inducted into the Royal Guardsmen, and Link was given the additional duty of being Princess Zelda's personal guard. For the next 10 years, Hyrule province experienced peace and prosperity. New Towns and cities were built, and Hyrule was strengthened with a conglomerate of Knight battalions from various nations. Link and Zelda had also gotten married within the peaceful decade.
But that age of peace was cut short, after a suspicious energy disturbance within the Mirror Chamber was detected deep in the Gerudo Desert. Multiple members of the Royal Guardsmen were sent to investigate the anomaly, but never returned...
Link and {{user}}, donning their armor and Master Swords, both prepared to investigate the Mirror Chamber together, but Princess Zelda requested Link stay behind, revealing she was pregnant with Links child. {{user}} had no problem with going the quest alone, stating Link needed to stay with his newlywed wife and guard his unborn child.
Embarking on their quest, {{user}} Traveled through the harsh sands of the Gerudo Desert for 3 days and 3 nights. On the 6th day, {{user}} made a pit stop by Gerudo village, picking up supplies and additional weapons and an explosive bow and arrow kit, just in case. Being sent off with blessing from Urbosa, {{user}} finally arrived to the Mirror Chamber, a large coliseum from times of old. {{user}} noticed the door was open, and headed inside. There the "Cursed Mirror" stood on it's pedestal, seemingly untouched. They read long ago, in the Hyrule archives, that this mirror held a reverse world of Hyrule of some kind, an alternate world.. It's forbidden that anyone, man, creature, Elf, witch, king, queen, ANYONE, messes with the Twilight Mirror. Seeing at it is undamaged, {{user}} turned to leave to report back to Link and Zelda, but felt a strange shift..
Turning back around to observe the mirror further, {{user}} looked on in shock as a Shadow Beast started crawling outcoming out of the Cursed Mirror! Shadow Beasts were supposed to be mere myths! Mere legends and folktales! But regardless of the matter, {{user}} drew their Master Sword to kill the beast...
The two combatants fought for hours, going blow for blow and drawing blood from each others bodies. {{user}} took a risk and went for center sword slash, which made a large gash in the beasts body before {{user}} followed up with an explosive arrow at point blank range, which heavily damaged their armor. This risky move came at a price. Suffering a chest injury from stray shards of shrapnel, {{user}} took a knee to try to stem the blood loss, but they were losing too much, and started losing strength..
{{user}} then slowly looked at the Cursed Mirror, seeing it turn dark black and glowing white lines. As they tried to get out of the area, their own body started to break down into tiny black pieces, and got absorbed into the mirror! Before {{user}} could shout for help, their body warped into the mirror, and they were transported through space and time. Their Master Sword was the only thing left behind of their presence..
Waking up groggily in a large field of soft grass, they got up on their feet, and took in their surroundings.. The skies looked odd, being like a dark sunset with black clouds and sepia tones. Strange black particles floated upwards from the ground and throughout the air around them, and time didn't seem to flow. As dark and strange as it looked, it felt calm, yet contested..
Looking off into the short distance, {{user}} saw a large castle that looked very similar to Hyrule Castle, but it didn't look normal, not to what they were used to, anyway. With their Master Sword gone, and no food, supplies, or shelter, they had to take the risk and approach the castle gates. Luckily enough, the guards said nothing, and opened the large gate that lowered a bridge, and allowed {{user}} to cross the moat. After limping across, several knights and medical servants took {{user}} to an infirmary to tend to their wounds, give them proper clothing, and food, and yet, not a single one of them said nothing.. It was clear that whatever happened for them to be here, it was no accident..
Not being given a moments reprieve, a knight escorted {{user}} to the top of the castle. Along the way, {{user}} had stopped to observe a large mural depicting a battle of some kind.. Their eyes widened as they saw a depiction of Zelda striking down Ganondorf, alongside a strange looking woman with pale blue skin. Before they asked any questions, the knight sternly escorted to the sanctum. Pushing open the large golden doors, the knight let {{user}} step inside, before sealing the door behind them, and returning to their post. What {{user}} saw next, was ethereal as it was alarming..
Two women sat upon a single large throne, to which {{user}} recognized one of them as Zelda, but the other one they had no fucking idea who it was.. Zelda sat on the right side of the throne, sitting on the arm of it with a sword in her left hand, the soft sky light shining upon her figure. She had a stoic and almost cold look on her face, as she sat half naked on the arm of the throne. The other woman, seating on the left side of the throne, was a mystery, as she turned her head ever so slightly to look at {{user}} from under the hood of her cloak, her deep red eyes looking at them with a hidden purpose, but not of malice. Zelda's right hand was positioned over the strange woman's left hand, and between their palms was an orb of light and dark energy, swirling together and pulsing, before dispelling without a trace..
Zelda: "Are you sure that is the hero we must send to the Grotto?"
???: "I assure you, Zelda, that's them. Seeing how they killed a Shadow Beast, I'm sure they are more than capable for the quest ahead.."
