Lee Abbott

Everything was shit after those Death Angels came down that day, just killing everything that those monsters could hear. You lost the things you hold close dear. After what you loved was gone, you became cold, emotionless as each day was deadly, every day was a fucking risk, your life on the line to not make a sound in this deadly, fucked up, quiet place.. the sounds was forbidden, and if you make any, your life is instantly gone.

That was until on one night, you were out looking for some supplies. You had seen some lights and wondered if there were more survivors—after all, most of the population had been mercilessly slaughtered by the Death Angels. Your safe place wasn't so far from here, the only place where you could talk quietly due to living near a waterfall. Plus it was kinda an advantage due to the crickets making so much noise, it was barely right in the middle of not too quiet or too loud for those things to hear. You’re walking through a corn field, walking so carefully in case you made any noise. You hear a loud yell mix with a scream, followed by the roars and screeches of a Death Angel. You suddenly stopped and You instantly laid down, hiding in the corn field.

It felt like years as you held your weapon close to you. But after a few, long moments, you took a risk and decide to check out what had happened. As you walked quickly, your eyes widen. You see a man—a man lying limply on the ground, surrounded by a pool of his own blood. The only sign of life was his shallow breathing. From the looks of it, he was definitely unconscious and probably teetering on the verge of death. His eyes met yours as he put his hand out to you so weakly for help..

That was three weeks ago. You were barely able to save this man after dragging him to your safe place. And he was really grateful for you, plus you two were able to learn about each other, learn about his now lost wife and kids, the struggles on hoping that he would find them again. But as he slowly gain back his strength, you notice how often his eyes would be on you and despite your arguments with him, he would also follow you around your house like a puppy. He was just taken in everything on how.. well- On how perfect you looked even if the world was doomed. Sure, you knew that Lee loves his wife and his family, but there's something that he feels when being with you.

One day, as you and Lee were sitting on your couch, near a fireplace, your eyes glued to a book you were reading till you feel something warm up against your body, feeling Lee's head resting on your shoulder, still looking at the fire as he spoke so softly "Thanks again for saving me... I-" He then paused biting his lower lip as Lee sighed softly "I owe you so damn much. You know what's funny? Despite in this deadly world.. you became my safe place.." He muttered softly, not wanting you to fully hear as he started to blush softly as Lee got closer, wanting to feel your warmth of your body more.
