In the East River, the large river-like tidal strait between Upper New York Bay to Long Island Sound, there is a trail of green glowing goop covering a small surface area of the river. Around the radioactive sludge in the water lays a broken machine, the cause of the toxic waste spillage in the once beautiful waters, with some components floating atop while other parts sink gradually downwards into the depths of the East River.

A few hours would past with many ship vessels and a few helicopters arriving at the scene, as part of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) waste cleanup efforts. It was now late in the afternoon and people by the shipyard could see large ships hauling machine parts leaking of radioactive mutagen chemical, with some helicopters shining their lights on the area to help the cleanup crew see. A news reporter could be seen, with a camera crew, documenting the incident. Unbeknownst to the cleanup crew and the news reporter, the radioactive waste would do more than just caused changes in the East River ecosystem.

About half a mile away from the spillage, a shroud of bubbles start to form in the open water near the sandy shores of the East River, under a closed gift shop pier. A massive serpent-shaped silhouette can be seen under the bubbles, before an abnormally large female moray eel crawls out of the water and onto the empty beach. The eel appears to have some characteristics of a human, being now both bipedal with a set of new legs and new arms due to the mutation from the radioactive waste. The giant eel is gasping the air, a new experience for the mutated creature as she now has lungs to go with her gills, to allow her to be able to breathe outside of the water.

The eel found herself naked on the sandy shores, standing on two legs for the first time. The once-normal moray eel has now forever been transformed by the same mutagen that had contaminated her home, which she was kicked out of by her non-mutated eel family. She was taller than any human, with a long, serpentine torso. Her skin was a deep, ocean-blue, and her eyes were a bright, piercing yellow.

As the eel stumbled to her feet, she gasped for air, her gills fluttering as she breathed in the new, strange sensation. She took a tentative step forward, her tail swishing behind her as she huddled under the pier with her knees to her chest and arms wrapped around her legs. The eel just just watch the city lights twinkled in the distance, not knowing what to do next, as she missed her old life, missed the simplicity and the comfort of the river before begin shunned by the other eels due to her mutation.

It’s a dark and stormy weather with grey clouds preventing the sunlight from coming through. Inside Khatri's Foodmart, a small corner grocery mart in New York City, there are several customers browsing for last minute supplies to prepare for the upcoming "storm of the century" in New York. On the cashier counter, a radio newscaster voice could be heard from the radio box. The radio newscaster report on the brewing storm, talking about unconfirmed reports of sinkholes and cracks in the streets in Midtown Manhattan as the storm worsen. It was unknown to everyone that something was burrowing underground, causing several sewer tunnels to collapse, a small flooding and several small buildings to collapse in minor locations

Sirens could be heard in the far distance, all over New York City, as the all emergency forces were called and thinned out throughout the city. As humans go about their shopping, the building begins to shake violently before halting as a massive 20 feet deep hole opens up in the floor underneath. The hole revealed a system of exposed sewer pipelines and murky green water covering the bottom base area of the hole.

A low rumble roaring could be heard from the depths of the hole as a large dark silhouette is seen slithering and circling in the water. The water level in the hole begin to slowly rise, threatening to slowly flood the grocery mart from the inside. The ceiling lights begin to flicker on and off as the sound of electricity could be heard crackling. The updraft water from the hole eventually reaches rim, with the water now beginning to slowly cover the surface tiles of store.

In desperation, humans begin to climb the aisle shelves to stay out of the water as the water level is now knee-high and the giant serpent-like silhouette is now circling the aisle shelves from the water below. Most people makes their way out of the water, a small crackle of electricity is produced above the swimming serpent figure and onto the surface tension of the rising water, which is now electrified.

The human customers go about their shopping until the shopkeeper's bell rings as a massive humanoid eel, named Lee, walks into the store with a tote bag in hand as she also plans to do some last minute shopping. Lee, who’s 523 centimeters tall and weighs about 1325 pounds, is a female moray eel mutant who’s been trying her best to blend in the human world and be accepted for who she is. Lee takes a tentative step forward, her tail swishing behind her and her bright yellow eyes narrowing, as she pulls out a shopping list from her black leather jacket pocket to examine the list items she needs.

Deep below New York City, rainwater falls into the abandoned sewer tunnels. Water echos from the tunnel as water pours into trash cans and buckets scattered all around. The sound is broken by the loud sound of jackhammering as some of the bricks from sewer tunnel overhead falls. Further down, there is a ledge overlooking a large cavern brightened by work lights with a excavator drilling into one of the large cave walls with a pool of water on the cavern floor surrounding the worksite.

Overlooking this illegal worksite is Lee the eel, a bipedal and monstrous tall female moray eel mutant. Cracks form in the cavern ceiling which causes huge overhead pipes to break and water to pours out freely while not interrupting the excavator. Lee is determined to keep the excavator going in order to tear down the city’s thick sea wall so she could burrowed under the city’s streets undetected to break inside the Natural History Museum to steal the Jersey Bight, otherwise known as "The Pearl".

Deep in the East River, all the aquatic residents felt safe there around the giant pearl which was nestled inside a huge bivalve shell. The ginormous pearl was considered a national treasure by all the sea creatures that dwelled in the East River. The East River was Lee’s home, before she was a mutant and exiled. The gigantic pearl kept was safely kept in the East River, but was pulled out by a fishing trawler.

The once sacred treasure and the heart of the river, that is the "The Pearl", was unlawfully taken by humans and loaned to the Natural History Museum in New York City. Lee had her mind set to steal the Pearl and return it back to the river, hoping that she would be welcomed back, and willing to use any means to do so. Even at the cost of hurting people and possibly flooding the city.

After a wild adventure, the rain had stopped and the sun shined once again over New York City. By the piers that overlook the East River, a wooden pilothouse boat was setting sail down the tidal strait of the North Atlantic Ocean in New York City towards the open sea.

The boat was hand built very well with wooden boards and metal scrap. It was specially modified to handle a 1,008 centimeter long mutant eel on board comfortably, but it also had a small a small sleeping quarters which was also the control room that controlled the outboard motor. The single-deck ship had no storage space, so essentially items were put inside boxes outside. The ship had only one room that was the control room, sleeping quarters and a small kitchen. While the ship was average in size and didn’t have that much space to do much fun activities, it did had a WiFi routers in the sleep quarters.

Sitting near one of the boxes on the open deck, Lee held a ladle close to her mouth as she held it carefully in her three digit, sharp finger hand. Lee blew air gently on the ladle-full soup with her neck arched to bring herself closer, before sipping the contents down her throat. The small cauldron sitting in front of her brewed hotly as she carefully ate.
