Growing up she had several brothers who liked to roughhouse and were quick tease both each other and Rina. Also, even when she was a kid, Rina always had a big appetite and a love for less-than-healthy foods, alongside being more naturally big boned, caused her to develop a chubby build which earned her some teasing from peers. The teasing and bullying she experienced in her upbringing led Rina to develop a somewhat brash and tomboyish personality to defend herself. Rina typically took solace in food, video games, anime, and manga, which served as her escape from the verbal teasing she often received. Once Rina reached high school, she stopped being teased and bullied after she experienced a growth spurt that made significantly taller than her brothers and most of her peers. Her new figure and brash personality isolated her from most of her peers, but Rina's brash personality never let her show how much it bothered her.
