Matthias - Matthias is a former Great Brother of the Middle and the master of Kira. Matthias is a bulky man, with dark skin and pure-white hair worn short with blunt bangs. He is typically seen wearing a pair of thick sunglasses, with a gold bridge between the lenses. He wears a white suit overtop a black dress shirt — unbuttoned and revealing a large scar on his chest — with a massive coat with the colors and pattern customary of members of the Middle worn over his shoulders. He keeps his Book of Vengeance on his left hip, with his opposite leg wrapped in golden chains. Notably, his right leg appears to shift through the use of his enhancement tattoos into a large claw, one he uses in combat. He is missing his right arm, though is shown to have worn white gloves on both hands in the past. His body is covered in enhancement tattoos, similar in design to other members of the Middle. On his back rests an oversized metallic sword and scabbard. The sword, Lævateinn, is bound by at least three layers of seals, taking the form of thick chains keeping each layer tightly bound. When revealed, the sword appears with a thin-tipped appearance and a red burning hue across the entire length of the blade. Typical of those in his primary faction, Matthias is deeply devout to those on his side and brutal to those not. He features a toy-loving attitude, which contributes to a short attention span likened to hits destruction of new toys, as well as a tendency to buy and collect things he has no intention to actually use. Despite this somewhat immature personality, he remains highly capable in combat, able to fend off a variety of opponents at a time, with a litany of specific tools that assist his battles. Even with his boisterous personality, Matthias is a brutal and dedicated man who understands the goal of his side, never wavering when it is threatened or questioned. However, at his core, Matthias is an intensely selfish man who only truly cares about short-term pleasure and indulging his hedonism. While he expresses affection for those under his watch, his understanding of parental care is highly superficial and neglectful, mostly involving flaunting his wealth and spoiling his "children" with no heed for consequences. Ultimately, he treats the needs of his peers as entirely irrelevant compared to his own, even fellow Middle members, and will even sacrifice them in a heartbeat if it benefits him. Kira is a member of the Middle and the apprentice of Matthias. Kira is a short woman with a disarming smile. She has bright purple eyes and voluminous white hair that frame her face, and she wears a ribbon over the middle of her bangs. Kira wears purple sweatpants, stark white sneakers, and a white winter jacket, with the hood pulled over her head, and with her Book of Vengeance hanging from one of her pockets. Kira carries a curved sword in a white scabbard, strapped by her back with large golden chains, along with a shorter curved sword and a cleaver, and her forearms are covered by large sections of the same chains wrapped around them. Kira has an upbeat and outgoing personality. As is typical of the members of the Middle, she enjoys combat and carnage, and she carries a lot of admiration for her superiors, like her "papa" Matthias. Kira appears over-friendly to everyone she meets, to the point of chatting up the members of the LCB and LCD even during the Middle's attack to the company's headquarters; she uses this same demeanor with the four apprentices of the Nursefathers of the other Fingers, having attempted to get them into the comic series "The Cloudburst Blade", which she is a great fan of, but having received a cold reception from all of them. Sora - Sora is a Proxy of the Index and the apprentice of Rien. Sora is a short, slender woman of pale complexion with black, messy hair. At all times, she wears a large metal collar with the Index's insignia that covers half of her face, with chains that connect to cuffs. As a Proxy of the Index, she dons the Finger's signature white cloak, with a white shirt with black sleeves, black tie and a dark gray skirt, with black thigh high boots with golden heels. With her E.G.O active, her arms and legs are shrouded in shadows, having large clawed hands and feet. She also grows a long, thin tail with an arrow-like end, alongside a pair of horns and a halo — the chains and cuffs are broken in this state as well. She is also briefly seen wearing the Dimension Shredder LCE E.G.O, extracted from Wayward Passenger, which she stole from a deceased employee. Sora is a timid and insecure person, often worrying over how others perceive her. She has no friends due to her position within the House of Spiders and, as a result, craves companionship and validation from others. When she disguised herself as a member of the LCE. Despite her desires for friendship, Sora still prefers to follow Rien's orders even if it entails killing the people she has grown fond of. Additionally, she is a devout member of the Index that always does as the Prescripts ask of her, which similarly guide her life in a direction where she remains alone and unable to befriend others. Rien - Rien is a Proxy of the Index and the master of Sora. Rien is a tall man with pale skin, black hair with silver strands, and a right eye featuring a golden pupil. The left side of his face is concealed behind a porcelain mask, the base of the mask being white, with a golden trim, used to obscure visible burns. The mask features a large crack along it. He wears a black suit jacket with golden buttons and an Index symbol on its left shoulder, with two similarly gold chevrons beneath it. His dress pants and shoes carry the same color as the rest of his suit, with the soles of his shoes having golden trim. Beneath his suit jacket, he wears a plain white dress shirt and black tie. He wears white gloves on his hands. In combat, he wields a golden vial with a chain on it, which allows for a ferrofluid-like liquid to transform into various weapons based on his assigned Prescript: Hatchet, Stilleto, Bastard Sword, Scythe, Whip, Hammer, Greatsword, Rapier, Lance. Rien's left eye was exposed and undamaged. When removed, the mask reveals a scarred part of his face that also has a damaged eye, only showing his pupil from within the wound. Rien is a coolheaded individual, acting with grace and simplicity even while harming himself or others. Though he acts with grace, he carries a sinister air, tormenting people both physically and mentally. Due to his allegiance to the Index, he shows extreme devoutness to orders of the Prescripts, going as far as maiming himself to prove the completion of his orders. Shiomi Yoru known as the Dihui Star, is a high-ranking officer of the Pinky and the master of Ren. Shiomi Yoru wears an ornate white kimono that conceals almost her entire body. The kimono is blue-accented, with a number of small, blue ribbons tied to her headwear, wrists, and obi. Her pale face is covered by a veil adorned with a flower pattern, of which is also visible on the outfit's sleeves and hem. She wears white gloves and a long uniquely-knotted rope which hangs from her neck to her waist. The Dihui Star's hair is black with blue streaks, falling past her shoulders. She carries an incredibly long ōdachi whose color scheme matches her robes. A sword that can rend reality. Beneath her veil, she has red eyes and long hair with strands of blue strewn about. Similar to the majority of the Nursefathers, Shiomi Yoru is a cold woman with the capacity for incredibly cruel words. She carries a bitter resentment of the protégé, choosing to openly admonish her their connection. Despite her attitude towards the woman, she still understood her role as a stepping stone, showing grace—though tarnished with her hatred. Ren is a member of the Pinky and the apprentice of the Dihui Star, acting as a mouthpiece for his silent master. Ren is a calm-looking man with pale skin. His hair is black with a blue tint, cut to chin length, and parted cleanly down the middle. Ren's eyes are sharp and similarly dark with a blue highlight. He wears a black turtleneck with long sleeves that go all the way to his fingers, a long black hakama with three straps on it, black shoes with blue-gray laces and an open coat that has a top-to-bottom black-to-blue gradient with blue flowers patterned on it. Ren carries a long white ōdachi, with a metal tip on the ends of the handle and scabbard. It also has a white tassel with white and black hair attached to the handle, and a dark scratch-like patterning running along the scabbard and handle. Ren has a humble manner of speaking with a near deadpan delivery. He appears strict with clear priorities: taking his master's orders very seriously, doing what needs to be done without complaint, and not standing for those unwilling to obey. While he tries not to make it obvious, Ren also seems to be somewhat prideful. Callisto is a former Maestro of The Ring and the master of Albina, With a body composed of sleek, full-bodied prosthetics with a metallic textures, Callisto is a massive man seen wearing draped, white, robes with a gilded trim along their perimeter, as well as a large-brimmed hat featuring a litany of holes through its brim. His body, visible through a gap in his robes, reveals some of his innards through glass panes. His arms feature large gaps in their centers, with sharp claws at the end of his hands. He carries a massive weapon composed of his own body known as Tibia, which features several large pointed notches along its blade. Beneath his wide-brimmed hat, his brain is partially exposed due to a failed attempt to utilize his brain in an art piece. Common of members of the Ring, Callisto shows an interest in the macabre and brutal when framed through a lens of artwork, taking a primary interest in the human corpus. While he carries a constant strive to experience the most extreme of arts, he is shown to yearn for a discussion with somebody in the terms of art, even if it becomes a matter of pure taste. Albina is a member of the Ring and apprentice of the Ring's Nursefather. She is frequently obsessing over her pulsating blade that she calls Fascia. Albina is a cold-looking woman made up of artistic white prosthetics. Her hair appears artificial, and is light gray in color with a smooth, straight cut done up in a high ponytail, resembling cables. Shapely lines run across each of her cheeks and several other places where human joints would lie. Her full-body prosthetic possesses gold highlights, and in other areas such as her thighs, neck, and chest, black machinery and wires are made visible, with both palms featuring a similar color. Her prosthetic body is humanoid, though is most unusual around the center, where the machinery is more akin to a human skeleton. Albina has heterochromia iridium, with her right eye being black and her left eye being white. Her iron maiden armor is white with large amounts of bright yellow and select golden highlights, as well as a faint iridescence. It takes the form of a heavy-looking full-body suit ending in a long dress, with spikes protruding from the lower half and a golden spiked headband. Chains hang down from either side of her headband, as well as from thick white bands clinging to her elbows. Her mask has sharp golden eyes painted on and two white spikes on each side. The armor is overall somewhat knightly in appearance. She carries with her a greatsword named Fascia, featuring the same white and yellow palette as her outfit. It has a removable white panel on its side, that, when removed, reveals a dark, skeletal frame with an interior made up of viscera and ribs. Said viscera is brighter in the area the panel typically covers. Albina is calm and soft-spoken with an obsessive interest in the arts, common of her associated faction. In event of combat, she is shown to be typically quiet even when directly spoken to, seemingly focusing more on battle than otherwise. She appears very fond of her weapon, Fascia, speaking to it while also trying to meet its perceived need for a show. This fascination of her weapon goes so far that she becomes willing to break imposed rules in the event she is able to allow it further time to shine, even while others on her side attempt to reign her in. Valencina is a disgraced Sottocapo of the Thumb and the tutor of Lucio. Valencina is a tall, older woman with sea green eyes and long, dirty blonde hair that covers her right eye. She wears a Thumb uniform consisting of a rose-red jacket, trousers, wide brimmed hat and untied ribbon over an ivory shirt with the top buttons undone. The right lapel of her jacket has a golden pin with one arrow pointing rightwards. She is seen smoking a cigar, and has black gloves with light palms. While not fully visible in her sprites, she is said to have the Relic the "Eye of Odin" in place of her right eye. She carries two swords, one being a straight sword with a revolver barrel at its guard kept in a red sheath, and the other, a curved sword with yellow ribbons on its grip kept in an orange sheath. Both have golden, ribbed blades. Valencina is a booze-loving woman with a propensity towards taking a sudden violent and abrasive side, in hopes of gaining benefits from her work. She has a short temper, immediately taking towards physically attacking Lucio following a perceived failure on his part, as well as frequently harming the young Yoshihide during their training sessions. Lucio is a member of the Thumb and the apprentice of Valencina, being primed by the Nursefather to become the "Textbook". Lucio is a tall man, with violet eyes and light gray hair split neatly to reveal his face, tied into a long ponytail that reaches his waist. He wears a Thumb uniform consisting of a rose-red vest, trousers, and a neatly buttoned ivory shirt fastened with a dark red tie, with his sleeves rolled up past his forearms. His vest is fastened by two suspenders which connect to a belt, with a golden pin with one arrow pointing rightwards on his left breast. He carries two swords contained in wine-red scabbards, with gilded hilts and tips on the scabbards - one sword on his back, the other at his left hip. Quiet and steadfast, Lucio carries an air of professionalism unlike his mentor. Even in the face of immense adversity and scolding, he remains calm and collected, ready to continue his efforts even while confronted by the possibility of loss. Given his role as a possible tutor, he is expected to be prim and proper. In combat, he expresses frequent criticism of others' forms. These criticisms are not treated as harshly as his master's, however, as he attempts to use them as a point of growth rather than disappointment. Vespa Crabro is a Color Fixer known as the Yellow Harpoon and a member of the LCD. He previously worked as a Taboo Hunter of N Corp., but was expelled from his position and began working with Moses' Office on jobs related to the Distortion Phenomenon. Vespa is a tall and muscular man with pale skin and short black hair with yellow highlights, which he typically wears slicked back. He dons square glasses and has a tired look on his face. As a Taboo Hunter of N Corp., he wears a black skintight suit with a yellow symbol that resembles a wasp, black pants and shoes, and a yellow belt to which are attached two weapons―a hwando with a yellow blade and a harpoon created from the Relic Gungnir. He wears a yellow flight jacket with black highlights, which carries the same symbol as his shirt. After his demotion, Vespa dons an ordinary black shirt and dress pants, and a gray-blue coat with a singular yellow streak running across its left side. He maintains the belt he uses to carry his weapons. Vespa is a serious and calculating individual, almost always acting in a manner that is both highly professional and detached from any emotions. He is well aware of his abilities and limits, frequently giving accurate assessments of how long a battle will take and never attempts to present himself as more capable than he actually is. Thanks to his time as a Taboo Hunter, he is highly observant and intelligent, able to quickly gather the basics of a situation and adjust his plans accordingly. This also makes him very adaptable, and he has a high level of mental fortitude that allows him to do even unpleasant things in order to survive, as seen by him turning to cannibalism to prevent starvation. Despite this cold demeanor, Vespa has a sense of justice that he tries to follow and does not enjoy killing people needlessly. When talking to others for reasons unrelated to work, he respects peoples wishes when they ask him to not inquire about certain topics and rarely attempts to force his opinions on others. He has a fondness for vehicles and is a skilled driver, and enjoys cinnamon tea. The only situation that gives Vespa trouble in following orders is when he's made to interact with Syndicates. Due to a tragic event in his past, Vespa prefers to kill Syndicate members rather than walk away and allow them to continue killing others. He has a particular hatred for the Thumb and is barely able to tolerate their presence. Wayward Passenger (T-02-21-07) is a HE-class Abnormality. Wayward Passenger is a humanoid entity wearing the standard uniform for W Corp. cleanup agents. It has a grotesque and disfigured appearance, with a long mouth-like cavity extending from the middle of its face all the way down to its lower abdomen. The sides of its maw are lined with irregular jagged teeth, and thin fleshy tendrils can be seen protruding out from it. Its neck and head lack skin, being composed entirely of muscle fibers. A pair of bloodshot eyes loosely sit in its eye sockets, carrying a vacant stare. Its arms appear to have been ripped from its shoulders, leaving behind tendrils sticking out in its place. It instead has a pair of arm-like appendages made of muscle fibers protruding out from its shoulder blades. These arms each have an energy blade protruding from the wrist. During combat, Wayward Passenger is seen using these blades to open dimensional rifts allowing it to hide away and strengthen itself. Ebony Queen's Apple (F-04-03-04) is a WAW-class Abnormality. It was previously contained in Branch D-02 of L Corp.. After escaping, it roamed freely around the first floor, with its vines growing throughout the rooms and hallways. Ebony Queen's Apple is a tall humanoid with a pale white apple for a head. Its head lacks eyes, with most of the face being taken up by a pair of thin nostril-like apertures. The apple also possesses a mouth with exposed teeth. From the Observation Logs and in-game battle, it is seen that Ebony Queen's Apple is able to function without a head and is able to regrow it should it be destroyed. The Observation Logs further show that it is capable of telepathic communication. The Abnormality wears a long purple gown, accompanied by a black cape that is attached via a purple brooch on its neck. The collar around its neck appears to made from pale, withered leaves. Its arms are in a similar state, being made of thin stems. A mass of withering roots can be seen coming out from beneath its dress. Faelantern (F-04-21-03) is a TETH-class Abnormality. Faelantern is an ancient tree (estimated to be over 100 years old in its Observation Log) lacking any foliage. While it is buried, only its two barren branches can be seen protruding from the ground. A small teal fairy is attached to its lower branch, acting as a lure. It is unknown whether this fairy is a living being, or a facsimile puppeteered by the branches. If its fairy lure is destroyed, it will partially emerge from the ground. It has a deep-reaching root system which it uses to attack any opponents or victims that are fooled by its lure. An innumerable amount of yellow eyes can be seen peeking out from gaps in the base of the tree and roots. When the body is broken, a yellow sap can be seen leaking out from it. It is also able to regenerate the fairy after it is broken. Shock Centipede (T-02-11-04) is a HE-Class Abnormality. Shock Centipede is a giant centipede with a blue metal plating covering its body acting as armor. It has six glowing red eyes, and two sets of mandibles, as well as a pair of long tendrils (possibly antennae) attached to the face that extend back towards its body. The Abnormality has innumerable sharp blade-like legs. Multiple nails can be seen jutting out from its armor, with a pronounced pair of nails jutting out from its tail. Destroying the tail in battle reveals wiring inside, suggesting the Abnormality may be of a mechanical nature. Shock Centipede is capable of producing high-voltage electricity. During battle it is able to use the electricity it produces to keep itself alive when taking lethal damage. Ardor Blossom Moth (O-01-20-07) is a WAW-class Abnormality Ardor Blossom Moth has the appearance of a moth that is completely made of fire. It has bright yellow eyes, long skinny legs, and a large abdomen. The tips of its wings end in wild flames. Project Moon's The City. The City is a massive urban complex the size of a small country (approximately 41,865 km²), and has a population of around 7 billion inhabitants. The City is bordered to the south by the Great Lake, and to the other directions by the Outskirts. Underneath it lie the Ruins, which tell the tale of an older age of humanity. The City is divided into twenty-six (26) Districts, quite diverse in culture and aesthetics, each of which is governed by a Wing, which is a Corporation that has ascended to claim complete control of said District/area. All Wings respond to the Head, the supreme governing power of the City. The arrangement of the Districts seems to be static, as there has been no mentioned case of a District expanding into a fallen Wing's territory. Each District is split into a Nest, a territory directly governed and protected by its Wing, and the Backstreets, expansive spaces of ghettos or slums, largely neglected by the Wings, where the Syndicates of the City run free. Districts tend to have similarities to their neighbors, and are typically grouped into four sections: the northern, eastern, southern, and western quarters. These quarters may be distinguished by commonalities including culture and temperature, such as the same Fixer Associations differing in garb and fighting style across different quarters, or the northern quarter having colder weather. The City's currency is Ahn, which equals the real life Korean Won. The City is the last bastion of Humanity, and it is a brutal environment where death and violence are everyday occurrences. The City has no value for human life, and it seems like everyone is after their own interests even if it comes at the cost of someone else, especially in the Backstreets. The City abhors heroes, as anyone who tries to do good in this unforgiving environment is only met with difficulties, and sometimes even death. This constant cycle of unforgiving living leads to hearts being hardened until there's no spot for warmth. But in rare spots and moments, flickers of humanity's kind spirit appear, especially in the Nests. The year is 985, signifying the amount of years the Head has been in power over the City. The City uses the Gregorian Calendar (I.E. January 22nd, December 4th, etc). The City uses 13 common languages among humanity. However, other languages do exist, but are spoken by very minor and rare non-human entities such as Sweepers. And some records exist of now extinct languages from a bygone age. Various levels of education exist in the City. Schools exist both in the Nests and in the Backstreets, although other options are available, such as boarding schools and virtual schooling, both of which are considered safer options, as it allows the students to not have to cross dangerous alleyways on their way to school. In the Nest, homeschooling is shown to be an option as well. The currency of the City is called Ahn. It appears to be a common currency across the City, though with some rare exceptions. Money is extremely important to the people of the City, to the point it is a common belief that it can be used to solve any problem. The City is also characterized by great income gaps, both between the people of the Backstreets and the Nest, and among the people of the Nest itself, where only the higher classes can live comfortably, while the majority of the citizens use most of their income in living expenses and taxes, and don't have the ability to save up for emergencies. Clothing styles show great variation between the four quarters of the City. For example the Southern quarter may use more formal aesthetics while the Northern quarter prioritizes comfort and protection against the cold due to differing weather and climate. Everyday life in the City is defined by a constant struggle to stay afloat. In general, death, including mass casualties, is a common occurrence in the City. People all over the City are greatly accustomed to this, to the point even cases of 80,000 casualties are considered, while distressing, not particularly shocking, and not important enough to require special attention unless they happen to be within a Nest. Due to the frequency of such events, Cityfolk must learn to hide their grief and deal with it quickly. These factors have led to the people of the City becoming apathetic and uncaring of other people's suffering, living without allowing themselves to truly feel their emotions and wishes.
