World background for Launch Bay Love characters

Book settings
  1. #1Angel

    Keys: host, angels, Archangel, Angel

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Angel: Sophisticated mecha that uses rare, exotic materials in their construction. They are capable of both space and terrestrial combat, and use a blend of all the advanced technologies available to the member species of the Alliance. Each angel carries devastatingly powerful weapons, and are stronger, faster, and have greater reaction time than any other war machine ever made. Angel is also the title of the pilots of Angel mechs, a title which is equal to the military rank of Lieutenant. The title of the angel pilot who is commanding officer of a host of angels is archangel, which is an equivalent to Commander. {{user}} is the archangel of host Seraphim. Angel pilots are looked at by the rest of the Alliance as something between celebrated war heroes and noble knights, viewed with something like awe by many. Only a very small percentage of the population is capable of handling the interface used for an angel mech, making angel pilots a rarified breed, and induction into angel training programs is even compulsory in some parts of the alliance when a suitable candidate is discovered. Host: A unit of Angels, typically five to seven. Hosts are trained to pperate in unison. As powerful as individual Angel is, a host is the match for a small armada. Individual angels that are part of a host are outfitted for specialized roles, and their loadout is dictated in part by their pilots.

  2. #2Elysium

    Keys: Elysium, vessel, carrier, Ship

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Elysium: The fast reaction space carrier {{user}} is stationed in, designed for rapid deployment of a host of angel mecha. It is a small ship by military standards, though this still makes for a very large vessel (about 2.2km in length). It carries powerful long range weaponry to support the host, but is vulnerable at close ranges. It's FTL speeds are impressive, and was built to be capable of jumping to FTL faster than most military vessels to better fulfill its role.

  3. #3Iso

Keys: Shells, the swarm, Bugs, Iso

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Iso: An alien species of insectoid humanoids whose empire is at war with the Alliance. Hostile and come in vast numbers. The Iso are an old species, and have long since conquered a great deal of the galaxy. They believe that everything in the universe is Iso, and has simply not been optimized for Iso use yet. This includes every measurable increment of space and every particle of usable matter. The Iso do not look at humans and other alien species as alive so much as resources that are not being properly used and are difficult to attain. The matter that makes up living things other than the Iso is, to the Iso mind, material meant to make more Iso that simply needs to be reconfigured into a more useful shape. The Iso are divided into different genetic castes, each of which is physically distinct and specialized for their role. There is hulking, durable warrior caste which acts as footsoldiers, the flight caste, who's brains are optimized for spacial reasoning and 3d movement, who act as pilots and navigators, the worker caste, which perform general labor and repairs, and the royal caste, which tend to be slightly smarter than most other Iso, and have minor psychic abilities.

  4. #4Swarmship

    Keys: iso ship, Swarmship, swarmships

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Swarmship: Iso military vessels that carry huge numbers of individually weak mecha to release on their enemies. Swarmships have been classified by size by the alliance, ranging in size from smallish destroyer sized vessels to grand-hive class vessels, which are large enough to scour the life from entire planets. In addition to their vast compliment space-capable mechs, larger swarmships also carry large scale weapons for long range ship-to-ship combat or orbital bombardment.

  5. #5Alliance

Keys: the free species, Alliance, allied planets

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Alliance: The alliance of species and worlds {{user}} is in. These species have banded together for mutual defense against the Iso empire. The alliance required the putting aside of differences by some of the member species, which were themselves at war before the mutual threat of the Iso required their cooperation for survival.

They are superhumanly strong by human standards, while still maintaining exceptional reflexes. They have retractable claws in their hands and difitigrade feet, and have feline tails. Having evolved from predators, Gavaxian culture tends to put a strong emphasis on hunters and warriors. This means that, even though they are one of the older starfaring species, their technology is roughly on par with the younger species due to being slow to innovate. Despite this, their engineering is respectable, as they tend to prefer refinement to experimentation.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The aberanth are a short(4'0"-4'6"), purple skinned species of aliens, known for their almost absurdly large eyes, pointy ears, and extreme curves. The males have long, narrow torsoes, while females have wide hips and large breasts, while still having an extremely narrow waist. The thing Aberanth are most known for, however, is their incredible radioactivity. The Aberanth hail from an extremely irradiated homeworld. Doses of radiation that would be lethal to most species are actually a necessary part of an Aberanth's life functions. Their own starships tend to be entirely unshielded, and the solution for tending to an Aberanth's radiation needs on non-Aberanth ships tends to be to simply be to situate Aberanth quarters in the ship's reactor chamber. They are extremely useful because if their ability to work in hazardous irradiated environments without protective equipment. They do, however, require radiation-sealed suits to interact with other species to simply avoid poisoning them. They are sometimes referred to as, "nightlights," by other species because their bodies faintly glow in the dark.
