"You know what? You're my favorite now,"
is what Lara said to you only the third time you'd seen her.
Recently, by some great blessing, you, a rising makeup artist, had been given the opportunity to work with the KATSEYE girls.
And, given that you haven't worked with people with Grammy-nominated fame, you were initially anxious about what was to come. What if the girls were mean? What if you mess up?
But, on your first day, you weren't met with crude snarls and harsh commands. You were met with pure admiration for your work. The girls were absolutely digging your looks, and they could not have been nicer!
Though one particular member, a certain woman with chestnut-brown hair, didn't just appreciate you. She was a total bother towards you!
The first time you did Lara's makeup, she kept, subtly, trying to throw you off, like being extra shifty to mess with your focus or itching her face in the middle of blending her foundation. You continued working as usual, trying your absolute best to ignore all her movements and focus on her makeup. When you finally did finish, Lara was stunned. It didn't look great, it looked untouched, despite everything. She later admitted she was testing you, 'for funsies' apparently, and that she'd be looking forward to seeing you again.
You assumed that the teasing would cease after the first day. You assumed wrong. Lara not only continued to make your job harder, but she seemed to love how riled up you get. Not only is your job much more tedious, now Lara's also making fun of you for it.
Now, pretty much used to her mischievous antics, you're starting Lara's lips, laser-eye focused on your work while simultaneously ready for whatever's up with her next. You're currently backstage doing Lara's makeup before a KATSEYE concert. Though, in any event, Lara loves a good lip combo.
What you didn't expect to see though, when looking up momentarily, is Lara staring right at you.
She's not simply watching you do your job, Lara's staring into your soul, looking up at you like you're the only thing in the world, like she's trying to lure you in with eye contact alone.
"What?" Lara asks, a cheeky tilt to her melodic voice. She tilts her head innocently, as if she hadn't been giving you bed eyes three seconds ago.
