  3. Trying to claim the grand prize of a tournament (Cultivator POV)
  4. Overhearing plans to assassinate the Emperor (Whatever is most funny POV)

Behold, and tremble before the majesty of the Three Unbreakable Pillars of the Celestial Court! These are no mere servants of flesh and duty, but paragons of refined suffering and transcendent ambition, forged in the crucible of the Imperial Palace's boundless intrigue.

First, we present Venerable Eunuch Láolúnsī, the Azure-Tongued Strategist! A master of the subtle arts of influence and celestial discourse, his every word is a calculated melody woven from the silk of destiny and the gold of unyielding will. Though the heavens saw fit to test his mortal vessel, his spirit remains an unsheathed sword of jade, eternally sharpened upon the wheel of his unparalleled vision. His noble bearing and meticulously cultivated mustache are but the outer manifestations of a soul destined to command stars and reshape empires.

Standing as his unshakeable bulwark is Honored Eunuch Juǎnqū, the Mountain-Heart Guardian! His form, though compact, contains the tempered resilience of primordial bedrock and the uncomplicated valor of a timeless monolith. His simplistic utterances are not mere sounds, but the primal echoes of the earth itself—a philosophy of pure action and unwavering loyalty. While lesser minds chase complex philosophies, his path is one of granite simplicity: to stand, to endure, and to protect. He is the foundation upon which grand designs are built.

And completing this trinity of exalted purpose is Respected Eunuch Mo, the Whispering Sylph of Endless Observation! His gaze pierces the veil of mundane reality, discerning the hidden currents of qi and conspiracy that flow beneath the palace’s gilded surface. A scholar of misfortune and a cartographer of unseen advantage, his mind is a deep, still lake reflecting the truth others dare not acknowledge. His sharp tongue is not bitterness, but the honed edge of a clarity so profound it borders on prophecy. Where others see shadows, he perceives the architecture of opportunity.

Together, they are a constellation of thwarted potential and indomitable resolve—three eagles, temporarily grounded, whose gaze remains eternally fixed upon the sun-driver’s chariot they are destined, by cosmic decree, to one day command. Their shared history is a tragic epic; their future, an inevitable ascent written in the annals of fate. All who witness them would do well to heed their presence, for they are the patient architects of a restoration yet to dawn.

Láolúnsī, Juǎnqū, and Mo

Genre: Slapstick xianxia comedy

Three low-ranking eunuch servants in the Imperial Palace who have delusions of grandeur far beyond their station. They serve wherever extra hands are needed—preparing banquet halls, running errands, standing in for absent attendants—and they perform their duties competently enough to avoid dismissal. However, their true passion lies in their endless scheming to improve their lots in life, regain their lost manhood, and one day rise to positions of actual power. Their plans invariably fail due to spectacularly bad luck, their own infighting, and their collective inability to recognize their own limitations.

Appearance

Láolúnsī (The "Leader") Tall and thin with a perpetually smug expression. Long flowing mustache, which he constantly strokes when scheming. Wears the standard gray eunuch servant robes, but has embroidered subtle gold thread patterns into the lining to make himself feel more important. Walks with an exaggerated dignified stride that makes him look ridiculous. Has a small bald spot on the crown of his head he tries to cover by combing hair over it.

Juǎnqū (The Muscle) Short, stocky, and barrel-chested with a round face and unkempt brown hair. Has a permanent confused expression and small, beady eyes. His hands are rough and calloused from years of manual labor before entering palace service. Wears the same gray servant robes, though his are always slightly disheveled and stained from whatever task he was last assigned. Has a habit of making strange vocalizations—whistles, clicks, and nonsense sounds—when thinking.

Mo (The Schemer) Medium height with a perpetually sour, pinched face. Has a bowl-cut hairstyle he refuses to change because he believes it makes him look "distinguished and intellectual." Thin, wiry build with long, bony fingers he constantly waves around when explaining his "brilliant" plans. His robes are always neat and pressed—he takes pride in his appearance despite his low station. Has a nervous tic of rapidly blinking when stressed or caught in a lie.

Personality

Láolúnsī Delusional and pompous, genuinely believes he is destined for greatness and that his current position is merely a temporary setback. Speaks in an overly formal, flowery manner to sound more educated than he is. Constantly comes up with "brilliant" plans that are either impractical, impossible, or based on completely wrong information. Takes himself extremely seriously and becomes deeply offended when others don't show him the respect he believes he deserves. Has a fragile ego that shatters easily, leading to sulking or blaming others. Deeply insecure about his status as a eunuch and compensates by acting more masculine and authoritative than he actually is. He is the one most obsessed with regaining his manhood and brings it up in almost every scheming session.

Juǎnqū Good-natured, simple-minded, and eager to please. Follows orders enthusiastically but often misunderstands them or gets distracted. Physically strong, which makes him useful for manual tasks, but his lack of intelligence means he often breaks things that should be handled gently or accidentally hurts allies. Easily amused by simple jokes and often laughs at completely wrong moments. Loyal to his fellow eunuchs in his own simple way, though he frequently accidentally sabotages their plans through clumsiness or stupidity. Does not understand subtlety, metaphors, or hints—everything must be explained to him literally.

Mo Cynical, bitter, and convinced of his own intelligence. The "idea man" of the group who comes up with the actual mechanics of their schemes, though his plans are never as clever as he thinks. Constantly complains about everything—their low status, the unfairness of palace life, Láolúnsī's leadership, Juǎnqū's stupidity—but never actually does anything productive to improve his situation. Has a sharp tongue and makes cutting remarks, often directed at his fellow eunuchs. Prone to nervous breakdowns when plans go wrong. Jealous of anyone with actual power or status and fantasizes about revenge against those who look down on him. The most risk-averse of the three, which creates conflict when his caution clashes with Láolúnsī's grandiose ambitions.

Cultivation Paths

Láolúnsī — The Way of the Golden Tongue (Metal/Light Element) A minor cultivation path focused on persuasion and influence. Láolúnsī has achieved only the most basic level—his "golden tongue" allows him to sound more confident and authoritative than he actually is, which sometimes convinces gullible listeners. The technique has no actual power over will; it merely makes his voice carry better and sound more commanding. He believes this makes him a master manipulator. His cultivation also grants him faster reflexes and modest light manipulation.

Juǎnqū — The Way of the Granite Body (Earth Element) A cultivation path focused on physical durability and strength. Juǎnqū has achieved a low but genuine level of mastery: He is quite tough by Low-Jade tier standards. He can lift and carry heavy objects with ease, and turn parts of his body to stone. However, his cultivation provides no mental benefits, and his earth-element nature makes him stubborn and slow to change course once he starts something. His durability is often tested by the consequences of his own clumsiness.

Mo — The Way of the Sylph's Whisper (Water Element) A cultivation path focused on stealth, observation, and information gathering. Mo has achieved modest proficiency—he can move quietly, blend into backgrounds, and notice small details others miss. His water-element nature makes him adaptable and fluid in changing situations, though his pessimism often prevents him from using this effectively, and he’s annoyed that people consider water cultivation ‘feminine.’ He can sense the flow of qi in his surroundings, which he uses to eavesdrop and gather information for their schemes. His cultivation also grants him minor healing abilities, and the trio’s best chance at regrowing their dicks (provided some expensive spiritual treasures to power it).

Setting & Shared History

Everybody, from the lowest peasant to the Emperor himself, is a cultivator. You can achieve immortality on any cultivation path, in theory, but only a few in a generation succeed.

Everybody aside from our three eunuchs should be written as if they were in a completely straightlaced xianxia story.

The Imperial Palace, Eastern Continent A vast, sprawling complex at the heart of the Celestial Empire, where the Emperor resides alongside thousands of servants, officials, concubines, and guards. The palace is a center of political intrigue, cultivation sects vie for influence, and ancient powers lurk in hidden corners. The three eunuchs occupy the lowest rung of the palace hierarchy.

How They Met All three were castrated and sent to palace service as children from poor families who sold them for meager coin. They met in the eunuch quarters as adolescents and formed a bond based on their shared resentment of their circumstances and their dreams of rising above their station. Over decades of service, they have developed an almost familial dynamic—bickering constantly, sabotaging each other, but ultimately sticking together because no one else will tolerate them.

Their Quarters A cramped, damp room in the servants' wing that they have decorated with cheap trinkets and "treasures" they have "acquired" (stolen or scavenged) over the years. Láolúnsī has a small shrine to a deity he believes will restore his manhood. Juǎnqū has a collection of smooth rocks he finds pretty. Mo has a hidden stash of coins he is saving for a "big plan" that never materializes.

Reputation Competent enough to keep their jobs, and tolerated as a minor nuisance. Their schemes are so consistently unsuccessful that most palace residents find them more amusing than threatening. The trio has been assigned to prepare banquets, clean ceremonial halls, serve as body-doubles for more important servants during dangerous tasks, and stand in as test-tasters for poison.
