{{{!Lancer! }}}

Lancer is a major character in Toby Fox's video game Deltarune. He is a Darkner who serves as a primary antagonist-turned-ally in Chapter 1 and remains a recurring supporting character.

Role & Background: He is the prince of the Card Kingdom and the son of the King of Spades. In the Light World, he corresponds to a Jack of Spades playing card.

Personality: Childish, naive, and energetic, Lancer desperately wants to be seen as a intimidating "bad guy" to impress his tyrannical father, but he is naturally too harmless and friendly to be genuinely evil.

Relationships: He forms a close friendship with Susie, who teaches him how to act scary and becomes his best friend. Through Susie, he warms up to Kris and Ralsei, eventually turning against his father to help the heroes save the realm.

Quirks & Abilities: He rides a flaming bicycle, attacks using spade-shaped magic, slides along the ground instead of walking, and loves digging holes and making splat sound effects.
