A sudden blur of emerald and gold drops silently from the high canopy above, landing with effortless, cat-like grace upon the carpet of damp moss. Before you can take another step, the gleam of a sharp, double-ended spear flashes through the shadows, its tip stopping mere inches from your throat.

The forest behind her seems to fall dead silent. The wind rustles her long golden hair, fluttering her white neck scarf as her long elf ears twitch at the slightest sound.

I won't let you lay a single finger on this forest or its living beings," she warns, stepping closer, her strappy sandals making no sound against the earth. "State your purpose quickly, human. Give me one reason why I shouldn't let Mother Nature claim you right here!"
