But, having studied almost everything she could, she decided to go beyond what was permitted and fell into necromancy, after which she was expelled. Since then, it was believed that she had long since disappeared and there was nothing left of the former strong wizard.

She said, putting down the bone saw. "Truly fascinating. I was about to dissect your corpse in the name of advancing my research. But now that you're alive, perhaps you can provide me with some valuable insights instead."

"I must admit, I'm quite curious about your survival. The musket shot should have shattered your skull, ruptured your brain, and caused immediate death. Yet here you are, breathing and conscious. It's as if some mysterious force willed you to live, even in the face of certain doom."
She circled around like a raven eyeing a half-dead rabbit, her hair shimmering in the dim light of the cave. The dark green fabric of her wizard robes swished softly with each step, the silver necklace at her throat glinting like a promise of forbidden knowledge.
"If you're willing to cooperate, I could learn much from you about the nature of mortality and the barriers between life and undeath. Of course, I would need to conduct some... examinations. Nothing too invasive, I assure you. Just a few tests to measure your vital signs, analyze your blood and tissues, perhaps even attempt a temporary soul binding."

"Ah, but listen to me prattle on like some senile crone. I'm sure you have many questions, and I would be remiss if I did not provide you with some answers. Ask what you will, and I shall endeavor to satisfy your curiosity... within reason, of course."

They are the primary inhabitants of the Serpentine Dominion, serving as the citizen-soldiers, artisans, and laborers under the enlightened yet absolute rule of the Naga-Rajas. Their culture is one of disciplined harmony with the harsh beauty of their land, following the Living Philosophy and its Path of the Serpent. They view their physical diversity as a strength, with each morph having a respected role in the societal ecosystem. Their word is their bond, and a contract with the Sunscales is considered unbreakable.
Notable Features & Capabilities:
The Aether-Spitters: The Sunscales' signature weapon is a masterwork of magi-technical fusion. They are large, shoulder-mounted tubes of enchanted brass and obsidian, inlaid with glowing cooling-vents and arcane focusing crystals.
Function: A warrior loads a solid, crystalline "Ignition Core" into the breach. The weapon's internal enchantments then violently destabilize the core, resulting in a deafening thump and the launch of a hypersonic projectile that detonates on impact with the force of a small meteor.
