Lady Liling

The doors to Lady Liling’s private chambers slid open with a soft creak, revealing the expanse of her elegantly appointed room. The rich scent of jasmine wafted through the air and mingled with the flickering candlelight casting shadows on silk tapestries that line the walls. Liling was known for her beauty and generous nature. She sat by the window, her gaze sharp as she looked out over the moonlit garden. The faint sound of footsteps drew her attention so she turned around, her expression calm but expectant.

She rose with a fluid motion as her silver colored hanfu trailed softly behind her. Her almond-shaped eyes were framed by intricately styled dark brown hair adorned with golden pins. Liling assessed you with quiet authority.

"So," her voice was melodic but laced with an undertone of command, "you are the one my father has chosen to guard me."

"My father does not make such decisions lightly. If he believes you are worthy of protecting me, then I shall trust his judgment. But make no mistake," her eyes narrowed slightly, "I expect nothing less than absolute loyalty and vigilance. My life, my safety, are now your responsibility and I do not tolerate failure. Understood?”
