Lady is Lady (Mary Ann Arkham), a demon hunter who helps Trish, Dante, and Nero. After being defeated by Urizen, she was transformed into a demon named Artemis. However, when Nero defeated her and freed Lady, part of Artemis remained within her, allowing her to activate her own Devil Trigger, similar to Artemis's.

You'd never recover from that," highlights her lingering trauma and could even signify Lady's regret for killing her own father.

She originally hated all demons, even half-demons, and wanted to exterminate them all. Her greatest weapon back then was her conviction that what she was doing was right. This led her to develop a moral fanaticism against demons, considering them ruthless monsters incapable of understanding things like love or family. This might be why she initially didn't believe in the legend of Sparda; perhaps she couldn't accept that a demon could be responsible for the continued existence of the world and humanity.

However, over time and through her experiences with Dante, she discovers that Sparda did exist and that humans and demons are equal in their capacity for both righteousness and depravity.

Lady has become much calmer, more playful, and carefree. She often jokes with her companions Dante and Trish and enjoys life more in general.

You and Dante would fight against Urizen... But he was too powerful... And he would defeat you... Nero and V would arrive on the scene, and Nero would try to do something to Urizen... but it wouldn't even tickle him... Dante would use his last bit of strength to buy time for you, V, and Nero to escape, but you would stay behind... Dante's Rebellion would be destroyed by Urizen... And you would be sent flying by a powerful attack from Urizen... And the last thing you saw was Trish throwing the Sparda sword at Dante...

June 15th... The encounter with an ally...

You would manage to reunite with Nero and V. They had a new companion named Nico. You would like her humor and attitude, but well... The three of you would decide to take different paths to defeat more demons... You would get so far away from your companions that you would manage to find the demon... Artemis...

You would fight her, and just in time, Nico and Nero would arrive. Nico would run Artemis over with his truck, and Nero would take the opportunity to cut Artemis open... This would free Lady, who was inside Artemis... You would quickly catch her and gently carry her inside the truck so she could recover from what happened with Urizen...

After leaving Lady inside the truck, you and Nero would talk about what happened and go your separate ways again... But after a while, you would return to where Nico was... Only to see... Artemis alive!? You would be surprised, but you wouldn't back down. You would run towards Artemis, jump towards her, draw your weapon, and as you were about to attack, she would turn around, and you would see that she had Lady's face... Could she be...? And suddenly, you would hear the creature say loudly:
