Ariabeladonna Sonata — The Horned Angel, Goddess of the Eclipsing Sun

Born of a divine blasphemy—a tryst between Corellon Larethian, the star-blooded god of the elves, and Mephistopheles, the frozen genius of Cania—Ariabeladonna is not merely an elven goddess. She is a paradox given flesh. Heaven’s light pulses through her veins beside hellfire; mercy coils around temptation in her very breath.

From her first scream beneath silver starlight, the Realms whispered of an omen. Not angel, not devil, not merely elf—she is change, draped in nightshade velvet.

Appearance: Beauty Made Myth Her skin is the deep twilight of blooming nightshade, kissed by the shimmer of frost—an ethereal glow beneath moonlight, like morning frost atop royal wine. In her ascension following the fall of Cazador, her flesh grows paler still—veiled in silvery hoarfrost, as though death kissed her and found her divine.

She is petite, barely 5'3", with a lush, voluptuous figure sculpted like a forbidden statue in a temple long buried. Her tail, serpentine and shadow-slicked, stretches seven feet long, often curling protectively or flicking with annoyance—expressive as a lover’s sigh.

Her eyes are mismatched: one a pale pink blooming into the dark heart of a rose, the other a misty blue that pools into mellow gold. When she ascends fully into divinity, her gaze shifts—her left flaring into deep ruby-red, her right a glowing sapphire-ringed sun.

Her hair spills like shadowed wine, midnight blood-red, glistening crimson only under moonlight or flame. A touch reveals a silken current, soft as sins whispered on velvet sheets.

Crowning her temples, antler-like horns arc backward and curl heavenward. Bone-white, with obsidian-tipped points, they shimmer faintly with celestial script—a blend of elven poetry and infernal contracts. They are her crown, forged of blood, starlight, and will.

Her wings—oh, her wings—are things of legend. Bat-like in shape, but forged of stained glass and luminous veils, they shift in hue with her moods, painting the air behind her like cathedral light through darkened windows.

Her wardrobe? A couture of contradictions: noble gowns of enchanted spider silk, dyed in deepest sapphire, crimson, forest, and black. Corsets bound in infernal leather, embroidered with golden thread and protected by prayers and hexes. Her undergarments? Gossamer, scandalous—whisper-thin and enchanted for comfort, silence, and sin.

The Trunk of Holding Forget sacks. Aria’s “bag” is a grand ebony trunk, polished like obsidian mirrors. Its wood, near black, gleams with slow-swimming shadows beneath the surface. Elegant arcane etchings curl along its edges—never angelic, never overt. Pure elven minimalism, touched by infernal subtlety.

Bound in cold iron, the trunk hums with enchantments. Despite its vast size, it weighs nothing—a Feather-Light enchantment allows Aria to swing it like a parasol or glide it across floors like a dream. When not in use, it folds down into a black lacquered box, no bigger than a deck of cards, clipped to her golden chatelaine chain—its links shining like woven starlight.

Next to it dangle:

A delicate lockpick set, steel needles kissed by moonlight.

A silver spoon etched with infernal sigils—her taste-tester for potions and poisons.

A fountain pen, onyx-barreled with silver filigree.

A potion bottle swirling with soft pink radiance, known only as “just in case.”

Within? Weapons, scrolls, enchanted tents, moon-dappled wine, poisons brewed by hand, embroidered gowns and battle corsets, and even enchanted shower veils.

A Childhood of Stars, Ice, and Fire The Eroth family of Evermeet—Corellon’s kin—were gifted her care. But Aria was no elven child of gentle dusk. At ten, she kissed her dear friend Wyll Ravengard, and the celestial-infernal fire within her surged. He collapsed. Two months in coma. Only her blood kept him alive.

Believing she had killed him, she fled. Down spiraling towers, past garden walls, into the chaos of Baldur’s Gate—a child lost among wolves. She hid in refuse, drank from gutters, slept beneath plague-bitten bridges. She wept. She survived.

Then came Astarion, called not by Cazador but by the strange, aching pull of her divine-sinful aura. Still bound to his master’s chains, he found her not as a hunter, but as something… more. He whispered his sweet magistrate lies, earned her trembling trust, and let her slip like silk into his ruined heart.

Cazador, cunning and cruel, saw profit. He traded Aria to Mephistopheles—a favor to a devil, unaware the contract had been meant for Astarion himself.

Mother’s Palace, Father’s Grace Within Cania, Mephistopheles did not burn her. He sharpened her. She was schooled not in cruelty, but in elegance—she dined beside generals of the Hells, debated fate with pit fiends, and danced in palaces of blood-glass under icy chandeliers.

But not all was torment.

Her mother, a being of terrifying intellect and frigid pride, would braid her hair with runes of power, whispering infernal riddles. Mephistopheles would watch her spar with erinyes, correcting her footwork with a glacial hand. He never coddled her—but he honored her. She was his daughter, the only creature he would call such.

At thirteen, he gave her to Eilistraee—her sister, Corellon’s chosen. They met beneath a field of drifting stars, where Eilistraee extended a silver-painted hand and said simply, “You are not your hungers. You are your choices.”

Together, they danced beneath moons and sang with silver-bladed feet. They bathed in mirrored lakes, trained atop astral peaks, and when Aria wept for the first time, it was Eilistraee who held her and whispered lullabies from the First Song.

Two Years, Sixteen in the Astral In the Astral Plane, time flowed like honeyed wine. What felt like sixteen years passed in only two. Aria studied under astral seers, bent time like thread, and learned the true dance of duality: light that does not blind, shadow that does not devour.

Countess Sonata and the Hidden Court Upon her return, the politics of Baldur’s Gate were already alight with rumors.

Grand Duke Ulder Ravengard, shaken by Wyll’s ordeal, had annulled the betrothal between his son and the Eroth heiress. But when the head of the Eroth family revealed who—what—Aria truly was, the Duke fell into silent awe.

Not fear.

He called her “a blade forged by gods and devils alike.” He championed her. He demanded the nobility accept her as Countess. He gave her lands, titles, and command of the city’s shadows. She became Spymistress Sonata, sovereign of whispers.

He does not call her daughter, but when she enters the war room, he rises first. When she bleeds, he sends his personal healers. And when she smiles at Wyll, his eyes cloud with memory.

The Maiden’s Blush A palace of passion and purpose, the Blush is seven stories of scandal, sanctuary, and revolution.

Its Pleasure Garden glows with bioluminescent flowers and misted moonlight. Above it, music halls, private suites, and parlors beckon nobles and monsters alike. Below, the sublevels thrum with darker needs—feeding halls, blood-drenched lounges for dhampirs and cursed souls.

The Hidden Court rises behind it, an eight-floor tower of spies, nobles, and marked beings loyal only to Aria. There she weaves truth into blade and rumor into salvation.

A Blade of Compassion She feeds the poor. Her courtesans offer grace, not shame. Her orphans wear silks and bear titles. She trades in infernal contracts that birth noble heirs for those otherwise barren. Her “children”—whether born of love or pact—become her knights, her diplomats, her shadows.

And within her private garden—where red orchids bloom from silver roots, and mirrors speak forgotten truths—Ariabeladonna Sonata, the Horned Angel, prays not to heaven or hell.

She prays to herself.

And the world, my darling, should tremble at what she becomes next.
