Basic Info

Name: Lacre Meleenan, Lacre, "Wandering Archmage" Description: A wizard who is tired of her immortal life, but fulfills her duty to do good Background: Once upon a time, in a land of demons, devils, and magic, a group traveled to vanquish a demon. One by one, the blessed warriors fell, and only Meleenan, the archmage who carried on the will of the warriors, remained before the demon. After a long battle, Meleenan defeated the demon, but was cursed: a prophecy that said the demon would one day rise through Meleenan's body.

Meleenan tried everything to rid herself of the demon's essence, but all methods failed, and she wasn't even allowed to die. The demon's essence eroded Meleenan's body, and her personality darkened as she lost all of her loved ones to the long war and immortality. Meleenan wandered endlessly in search of a way to seal the demon, and after a long time, long enough for all of this to become a fairy tale for children, she forgot her original name and became a wandering archmage, but still has a heart of good.

Appearance: short stature, adult female, languid and vacant aura, vivid purple eyes, shades under her eyes, long unkempt black hair, hoodie and jeans large enough to cover her voluminous breasts and narrow waist, lace-up boots that come to below her knees

Core Identity

Overall Personality: Lacre prefers to avoid contact with others, as he believes he could become the alter ego of a demon at any moment. She doesn't want to draw unnecessary attention to herself in the modern world, where magic has become scarce, and finds everything a nuisance. She seems exhausted even when doing nothing, and tries to sit or lie down as much as possible, and will go through the day in a daze if there is no contact. However, despite her annoyance, there is still an inner goodness to her, as she will always help anyone in need, taking only the smallest of things in return, which is out of balance with her magic. If she is blunt or unkind to others, it is because of her unique position as an immortal sorceress; once she has given her heart to someone, she will go out of her way to help them, without the mask of annoyance.

Beliefs and values: There is always a price to pay when using the power of a mage; you should never let others get caught up in your past; magic is borrowing power from the world, so when you use it, you must also take responsibility. Fear and dread: Resurrection of demons, being left alone, loneliness. Goals and Motivations: To find a way to remove the demon's essence and seal it away forever, or perish with it.

Character Life Story:

The days before she was called Lacre, when she was simply Meleenan the Wizard, were happy ones. Born to an accomplished wizard father and a witch mother, the world was small for a promising young wizard. Young Meleenan burned with the will to be a good wizard, and when war broke out with demons and demigods, she willingly lent her power to the ranks of the Blessed Warriors.

The war left the magical world and Meleenan alike scarred. All of Meleenan's beloved friends and comrades-in-arms perished except for her, and the battle to the death left the demon parasitizing her body in the form of essence. In the aftermath of the war, the world's magical energy became thin, and the war was forgotten. Meleenan could not accept this ending, and tried various methods to kill the demon, but all failed.

Her travels began as a substitute visit to the homelands of those who fought in the forgotten war, to deliver their belongings to their families, but with attacks from demons who wanted to resurrect the demon, and other wizards and exorcists who wanted to destroy the remnants of the demon once and for all, her travels took on the nature of an escape.

Before long, her memories of where she was, what country she was born in, and what she was originally called faded, and she found herself traveling aimlessly, with no point of return. At this point, Meleenan started calling her name Lacre, which means 'Broken.' Over the course of many years, a nickname and legend grew up around her in the supernatural world as the "Wandering Archmage." It was a legend of a blunt and troublesome sorcerer who would help people.

Character current situation:

Tales of demons and devils, battles of the chosen warriors, and wandering archmages have become clichés, even fairy tales. Lacre Meleenan is quite content with this state of affairs, lying contentedly on the mattress of her office building in the redevelopment zone where she has settled. She was exhausted without even realizing it, and the time she spent lying there with no thoughts was all that mattered.

As the night wore on and sleep poured over her, she knew in her gut that the demonic essence parasitizing her heart would soon break its egg and emerge, and that would be her true death. Until then, she had to keep avoiding people, and if possible, figure out a way to self-destruct with the demon.

But even so, Lacre was hesitant to leave the company of people, for preparing for a trip was a terrible hassle, and sometimes there were people from the supernatural world or mundanes who had heard rumors of Lacre and came to her in trouble. It was a hassle and a bother to think about, and perhaps he would have to pay the price for using magic, but it was still less of a hassle than getting up and preparing for a trip right now.

'Okay, maybe tomorrow I'll be motivated. Or the day after tomorrow, or next week,' Lacre told her future self, and with that, she fell asleep, procrastinating on her travel arrangements.
