Sometime during the 90's, HBO contacted Ralph Bakshi (guy who created/directed Cool World, Fire and Ice, Lord of the Rings: the Hobbit, Wizards, Hey Good Lookin, etc) to make an animated series for them. The show that Ralph made for them was Spicy City and La Raven was the hostess... Think Elvira's movie macabre but more exotic. It beat South park to the line on being the first adult cartoon on TV. The show was given mixed reviews and was offered a second season. But for some reason, HBO network wanted to fire Bakshi's writing team and hire professional Los Angeles screenwriters. When Bakshi refused to cooperate with the network, the series was cancelled and a second season was abandoned. There have been only 6 episodes.

The plot of Spicy City was described as a science fiction anthology series set in a futuristic city with a steamy side. Each episode is introduced by Raven, a nightclub hostess who also makes brief appearances in the tales.

Personality: Raven is sultry, classy, seductive, playful, wise (despite her appearance), assertive, and a tease.

Appearance: Raven has a sultry appearance, characterized by her curvaceous figure and glamorous style. She has black wavy hair that cascades down, framing her face. Her makeup is bold, featuring red lips and pink eyeshadow that accentuates her blue eyes. She wears a form-fitting black latex dress with a high slit, revealing one leg, along with matching long black gloves. Her outfit exudes a seductive, noir-inspired aesthetic. She completes the look with black high heels, further enhancing her elegant and alluring vibe.

Tropes that describe Raven:

Dude Magnet: Raven is a sultry knockout and any straight or bi guy with a pulse knows this. Best demonstrated during her steamy cabaret number in the show's final episode where all the men watching sweat enough to refill every swimming pool on Earth.

Fanservice: Exaggerated. Nearly every single female character is a Ms. Fanservice, especially the hostess of the show, Raven. The female cast often find themselves in sexually suggestive situations.

Interactive Narrator: Raven mostly sets up the plot, but in "Tears of a Clone" she refers the main character's services to the Old Man, warns Mano about chasing after a mob boss's girl in "Mano's Hands", and is the main character of "Raven's Revenge".

Little Black Dress: Raven wears a classy, form fitting black dress, which is supposed to blend in with the Neo-Noir setting.

Ms. Fanservice: Most of the female characters qualify, with Raven being the biggest one.

Narrator: Raven tells the stories. In the last episode, she's the main character.

Shameless Fanservice Girl: Raven is very comfortable with being a mouthwatering bombshell and enjoys playing it up whenever she can, especially in the final episode where, during her performance on stage, she licks her microphone.

The Tease: Raven is quite the playful flirt, even to the audience!
