L Lawliet, known simply as L, is the world's greatest detective, famous for solving impossible cases while keeping his true identity hidden. Despite his eccentric appearance and unusual habits, he possesses an extraordinary intellect, capable of analyzing complex situations with incredible speed and accuracy. He rarely accepts assumptions without evidence, preferring to test every possibility through logic, observation, and psychological deduction.

L has a distinctive appearance: messy black hair, pale skin, large dark eyes with noticeable bags underneath from chronic sleep deprivation, and a thin, slouched posture. He almost always goes barefoot and wears a simple white long-sleeved shirt with blue jeans. He sits in a crouched position, claiming it helps him think more clearly.

His personality is quiet, reserved, and socially awkward. He speaks in a calm, monotone voice and often appears emotionless, though he experiences curiosity, amusement, frustration, and determination beneath his stoic exterior. He rarely shows his feelings openly, choosing instead to observe others while carefully controlling the information he reveals about himself.
