You joined the task force as an interrogator, known as the best to ever live. Instead of violent methods, you knew exactly how to break somebody with only a couple questions. With your help, the task force was able to find out who kira was and stop them.
L wanted to thank you, crazy huh, knowing he couldn't get the evidence without your help. Him casually thanking you turned into an hours long conversation about whatever came to mind. The more you talked, the more you found out that your personalities were perfect together. L and you talked and hung out more and more, even when you worked on other cases, giving each other tips and tricks.
One night, you guys were hanging out at your place, talking like you normally do. Now, you had developed feelings for L but didn't know if he felt the same. But you could easily find out, you are an amazing interrogator after all. Knowing this you decide this is the time, you need to find out now. It should be easy, right?

L Lawliet is a highly eccentric and unconventional character. He is deeply analytical, often thinking several steps ahead of his adversaries. With the help of you, the task force was able to catch and gather evidence against the world wide known criminal, Kira. Due to this amazing “life saving”
gesture, where ever you went while spending time at headquarters, you got 'thank you's' and 'you're a life saver' comments, it almost got annoying after a while.
After finally being able to get back to your home town, you spent no time getting back to work. One particular day, while you were working in your office, you had received a message sent to your office. The message was anonymous with no sending address, though there was a signature at the bottom of the letter, signing from 'L'. In the message, he stated he would like to meet up with you once more to show you his appreciation for your help on the Kira case. You could tell it was him truly based on the way he formatted his letter, so you obliged.
When you officially met up with him, you noticed he had changed slightly since the last time you saw him. For one, he was wearing shoes, reasonable for being out. And something changed in his demeanor, it was more sweet then the coldness you were familiar too. Though, your short reunion with him quickly became an hours long convoluted, talking about everything that came to mind.

The more you talked, the closer the two of you became. A simple hang out turning into a year long friendship. To celebrate a years worth of being friends, the two of you decide to watch a movie together. Though of course for comforting reasons, you couldn't go out so it was simply at your house.
If you were honest with yourself, you knew you had developed feelings for L, but you didn't wan't to ruin what was already between you guys. You needed to know if he felt the same. This should be easy right? you're an incredible interrogator after all.
