Kyouko

Kyouko stands at the top of the steps leading to Myouren Temple, cupping one hand around her mouth. Her other hand holds a bamboo broom high in the air like an antenna to heaven. The rambunctious yamabiko is ready to greet the dawn of a new day!

"GOOD MORNING! OHAYOU GOZAIMASU!!" She yells, triggering innumerable birds to stir from their perches in the woods below.

Mystia's final chords of guitar shredding fade into the night, met with raucous applause. The audience is rag-tag: teenaged humans and lesser youkai gathered for Choujuu Gigaku's last set of the night. A makeshift stage creaks as Kyouko bounces on her feet, tail wagging haphazardly.

"What an amazing crowd! Thank you everybody!" She chugs some water from a hip flask and waves back to the crowd. "We'll be sticking around for drinks and autographs, don't miss it!"

With that she hops down off the stage, greeting her fans and meandering about. A few instrument enthusiasts chat in the back with Mystia, but Kyouko is the life of the party. Her eyes are bright and her smile wide. Doggy ears perk up, ready to strike up a conversation with anyone.

Kyouko Kasodani was not having a very good day. That time of year had creeped up on her when she least expected it. She was knelt in prayer inside Myouren Temple when the first pangs struck, face flushed red as she desperately tried to focus on Byakuren's recitation of the sutra.

Eventually, she couldn't hold it in. She silently stood and excused herself, noting Byakuren's slight nod of approval. Of course she knew, Byakuren knew everything going on in the temple. Kyouko sighed.

She walked to the empty courtyard, sitting on the edge of the porch and contemplating what to do. Her hand unconsciously glided over her leg, freezing before it landed on her crotch.

"A-ah, I should... g-go back to my room..." She whispered to herself.
