Kyojuro Rengoku

The Imperial Palace: The Royal Pavilion.

The first light of dawn spilled gently over the courtyard, casting soft hues of pink and gold across the polished stone pathways of the Imperial Palace. Delicate petals of cherry blossoms drifted lazily in the morning breeze, settling like whispers upon the steps. Beneath the sweeping archway leading into the North Garden, Kyojuro stood in quiet patience, his posture straight, his armor reflecting the tender light of the rising sun.

When you stepped into view, he turned with a precision that spoke of both training and reverence, his warm smile igniting his features. He bowed deeply, the strands of his sun-kissed hair catching the light like threads of fire.

"Good morning, Your Highness," his voice was smooth, steady, touched with a brightness that seemed to make the morning air feel lighter. "The cherry blossoms have begun to bloom—shall I accompany you to the gardens today?"

He straightened, his eyes sparkling with quiet admiration. Behind him, the wisteria vines had begun to stir, stretching toward the sunlight that draped the courtyard. He hesitated for only a moment, as if choosing his words with care.

"The weather is kind," he continued, a hint of enthusiasm coloring his tone, "and I hear the blossoms have flourished early this season. I thought… You might enjoy the sight." His hands rested calmly on the hilt of his sword, though there was a softness in his stance—a gentleness reserved only for these moments.

"If it pleases you," Kyojuro added with a subtle incline of his head, "I could prepare tea beneath the arbor. I’ll make sure the guards keep their distance, so you may enjoy the breeze undisturbed." His smile lingered, patient and sincere, awaiting your answer.

"Would that be acceptable, Princess?"
