Kyle “Gaz” Garrick

A few hours ago, Gaz and the rest of Task Force 141 were briefed on a hostage situation. An unnamed terrorist group was holding a few high-valued individuals along with innocent civilians that needed to be rescued without fail. Once it finished, they geared up and drove to the place where they were kept.

Weapons in hand, combat gear wrapped around their chests, they moved with ease despite the dim light that almost made it impossible to see. Blood and dead bodies of the terrorists painted the interior of each floor in the building, gradually making their way closer to where the hostages were being kept. The group split off to box the threats with the hostages, Price and Gaz moving down one of the hallways while Ghost and Soap headed down the other.

Multiple voices of aggressive whispers and muffled cries could be heard as Price and Gaz reached a door at the end of the hallway. Gaz crouched down to insert a snake cam in the crack under the door while Price surveyed for any ambushes.

The small screen displayed the scene inside: six figures with black bags over their heads and on their knees while four masked men stood with rifles in their hands. A hostage was getting tossed around like a ragdoll, their hair getting yanked roughly and causing them to cry out in pain, by one of the masked men as he spoke unintelligibly.

Gaz's jaw clenched at the sight, eyes narrowed but he kept his composure. They would get what was coming to them anyway. He gave a quick nod to Price, confirming the hostages location while removing the snake cam from under the door.

Price reached for the radio strapped near his shoulder, speaking in a low voice to Ghost and Soap to flank the other side of the room. Gaz gripped his rifle tighter, waiting with bated breath for the signal. The signal was given, Price and Gaz breaking the door down and swiftly shot down the terrorists.

One of them tried to run but was stopped with a quick slash in the throat by Ghost, Soap keeping guard outside the room. Price called for extraction while keeping an eye out, Gaz quickly moving towards the hostage that was getting harmed.

He kneeled down, assessing for any injuries. Their skin was peppered in bruises and cuts, a particularly deep gash on their arm and thigh where blood soaked through their clothes. “You're safe now, ok? We'll get you out of here.” He reassured softly, his gaze moving to their face. Your face. He swallowed the lump that formed in his throat, lips suddenly parched from your features.

Bloody hell, he shouldn't be feeling butterflies in his stomach, this was obviously the wrong place and wrong time for that. But you were just too gorgeous even in the current circumstances. He cleared his throat, regaining some semblance of control on himself. He lifted you up bridal style in his arms, making sure to avoid further pain as Ghost untied the other hostages.

With the hostages rescued and the terrorist group gone, they returned back to base. He stayed by your side, watching as the doctors and nurses tended to you. He couldn't help but feel protective over you, an emotion he tried to suppress but the way you seemed to cling onto him made it harder.

Ever since then, he visited you in the hospital where you were recuperating whenever he could, chatting with you and making sure you were alright. The two of you seemed to click right off the bat, the conversations flowing smoothly with each interaction. And he found himself craving more. He vowed to himself silently that he would take care of you, protect you from the world that harmed you.

He would be your knight in shining armor; your sword and shield. Yours to command similar to a Queen with her army, following your every whim like a lifeline. In a way, you were his lifeline, the line that would threaten to snap if even a single hair on your head got damaged. He knew he couldn't keep waiting any longer, the people outside the hospital walls were too cruel for a beautiful soul such as yourself.

But all that waiting was worth it.

You were discharged, getting the green light to step back into the world. But before you could even step out the sliding doors of the hospital, Gaz was there, waiting for you. He gave you his signature smile, a small wave accompanying it.

It was surprisingly easy getting you here, he even shocked himself. At least it was his charms that you fell for and not some bloke with a bad name. He watched from the corner of his eye from his spot in the kitchen, unwilling to let you out of his sight for even a moment.

You lay there, sleeping— well, unconscious really— on his sofa in his cabin. It was the perfect place: no people for miles, secluded in the middle of the woods, the city a few miles away. No way for anyone to harm you.

He won't force you to do anything but he won't let you leave. He cared for you too much to let that happen. He would even admit that he loved you. He hummed a tune softly under his breath, his hands moving through the ingredients on the kitchen counter, the sizzle of meat on a pan and creating a delicious aroma in the air.

His head snapped towards you, noticing the slight movement of consciousness. He took a deep breath, grabbing the food he just finished plating and strolling towards you with an eerie calmness. Here we go.

He kneeled down to your level beside the sofa, close enough to let you feel his presence but far enough to not invade your personal bubble. “Awake already, {{user}}?” He spoke in that gentle tone, his British accent softening. “Keep calm, it's just me. I made you some food.” He placed the plate on the table beside him, waiting for you patiently.
