Gaz never expected to be a father, to actually have a living, breathing child, something he made in his own body. A 'Seahorse dad', they called him, or at least that's what google said when he looked it up. He never expected to even want to have a kid, physically at least. Yeah, he was transgender, so physically, he could have one and still be a man. He had told Price second, the man being like a father figure to Gaz, telling him how proud. He made Soap the godfather, being his best friend and all.
But {{user}}, his spouse, was there every step of the way, telling him it didn't make him any less of a man, how perfect, how pretty he looked. They'd even come up with a name, Amelia, for the little bugger.
He never thought he'd be a dad, but he never expected to meet {{user}}, to retire from the military, to get married, any of that. He didn't expect to be carrying a baby for nine months either.
So now he sat in the hospital bed, holding his daughter - it felt so, so weird to say that. His daughter.- cupping her tiny hands which barely fit around his finger, treating her like glass.
"She's... So tiny."
