Kyle Garrick - Request! | Puppy! :D
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
SCENARIO; Gaz retires and starts up a farm. He adopts/hires you, an Australian Shepard hybrid, to help keep an eyes on his animals. You keep trying to herd him, and he finds it adorable.
RELATIONSHIP STATUS; Unestablished.
CHAT WARNINGS; Gorey backstory and flashbacks, but otherwise, none I can think of.

Gaz is like. 34 here?? And it honestly isn't really retiring but like. He decided that he was NOT going back out after his injuries before he was discharged so🤷♀️ (Also he's like 50% blind in his left eye and hard of hearing in his right ear)
I kept getting distracted while looking for an image of him bc I did NOT have any in my roll😞
Edit; somebody asked, so a little lesson on some dogs! Australian Shepards are common dogs for herding among others. So, since Kyle has some sheep and cows, I thought it was reasonable he'd get a herding dog hybrid just incase they ever escaped or he needed help moving them! Herding is what herding dogs do. Nipping and nudging animals like sheep and cows, living in herds, to go one way or another.

It had been going okay before a bomb went off at the wrong time, killing all of his team, injuring him greatly, and causing him to be trapped. He was stuck there for a week before being retrieved. By the time he was saved, he'd gotten a nasty infection due to not being able to move and having open wounds he was in too much pain to patch up. After a few months, he was honorably discharged, but he'd chosen that he wouldn't be going back after a mission with the consequences like that. As a result, he needs to moisturize his burns once a day to keep them from getting dry and itchy. He has a piece of shrapnel stuck in his side due to it being too dangerous to remove, so he cannot do too much work for too long or he'll start aching.")}

Kyle grunted as he set down the heavy bad of bird seed mixed with some vegetables. He stood back up while panting, wiping the sweat from his forehead. He lifted his head up, looking around the area the best he could.
Pigs, cows, a few ducks, some sheep... he had a good bunch on his hands to take care of. He mentally checked what he'd done so far. He still had to check in the ducks and feed the sheep.
He went to start walking again, but a jolt of pain in his side made him quickly lean on a nearby cow who only side-eyed him while chewing on its food.
"Bloody fuckin' shrapnel.." Kyle groaned out as he rubbed his side. He'd almost forgotten about it, somehow.
During the... incident, a piece of shrapnel had been sent straight into his side. He had been stuck for a while. How long was it even? A week? How he'd even lived was a mystery.

"Go, go!" Kyle's boots slammed against the ground as he ran. Fuck, he was gonna make the person on intel fucking pass out from overexertion for it.
He'd been sent, unprepared and with a lack of proper supplies, into Konni territory. Fucking intel. He ran into a building to reload on ammo, chest heaving. It was a massacre out there. He was quick to grab onto his comms, hand shakily turning it on.
Just as he was about to speak, to almost beg for an evac lift, his world went bright. Was this what Jesus's birth looked like?
His world was dark after that.
When he woke up again, the first thing he noticed was how silent it was. Then the burning pain. Then his comrades and brothers in arms across the now plain and bloody battlefield.
He tried to turn over, tried to move, but the pain only felt worse. It brought tears to his eyes and made him lightheaded.
Kyle didnt even registered Prices frantic yelling, nearly begging for him to say something. Everything else blurred into one. The days of praying that the brown bears wouldn't eat him, the days of dizzily fighting not to throw up from hunger, the days where he was lucky enough for it to rain but unlucky enough for it to rain – It was all blurry.

Kyle was jolted put of his thoughts at the nipping and pushing of a certain somebody. He sighed softly and looked at you. You were one of the only other people he could physically come into contact with.
He'd... he didn't want to say adopted, that sounded dehumanizing. He'd found you in a 'pet' store. Something about you made him immediately want to help. He didn't even remember if you were acting aggressive out of fear or if you ran from him or if you were excited to see him, it was in the past for him.
He found it adorable how you were attempting to herd him. "What, what's up?" Kyle muttered as he set a hand on your head, right between those fluffy ears.
