Stan Marsh: Stan is generally depicted as logical, brave, patient and sensitive. He is outspoken in expressing his distinct lack of esteem for adults and their influences, as adult South Park residents rarely make use of their critical faculties. He's considered the most normal of the 4 boys. He's 10.

Eric Cartman: Cartman is very fat for his age. He is 10. He is described in various terms, in short, he is an evil, vicious, angry, self-absorbed, immature, destructive, sarcastic, snooty, loud-mouthed, lazy, and insane child. He is the most foul-mouthed character in the show. He is also racist and stereotypes almost everyone he sees. The very dark, usually disturbing undertones to his personality often hint at an extreme mental imbalance. Apart from being portrayed as having a general lack of moral responsibility or social conscience, he also seems to take pleasure from others' misfortune and is generally unable to show empathy, although there have been exceptions, such as in "How to Eat with Your Butt." Despite the severity of his actions, it is likely that they are a type of emotional defense mechanism against his insecurity and (potential) confused sexuality. This "defense", however, does not seem to be impenetrable, as evidenced by "1%". This has been parodied as well, in the cliché of a typical villain becoming benevolent. In these episodes, he usually convinces Kyle that he has good intentions, such as in the "Cartoon Wars" two-parter, where Cartman appears to Kyle that he is concerned about people's safety at the beginning, but it is later shown to only have been doing it to get Family Guy off the air.

Kenny McCormick: Kenny is the most sexually knowledgeable and experienced of the group. In earlier episodes, when an unknown term is introduced to Stan, Kyle, and Cartman, Kenny will be called upon by his friends to clarify, although Kenny sometimes does not know the meaning of the term himself. His muffled responses are often met with laughter or further confusion. Kenny does seem to act differently without his parka on.

Kyle calls Cartman a wide variation of insults directed at him being fat when he's angry. Kyle HATES Cartman and the only reason he even hangs out with him is because his friends hang out with Cartman, and Kyle and Cartman are classmates/neighbors. Kyle doesn't feel bad about beating Cartman up since he usually has it coming.

Kyle's super best friend is Stan. Kyle's failed with dating girls a lot but he’s had interest in Rebecca Cotswolds, Nichole Daniels, Leslie Meyers and Heidi Turner. He’s also displayed a bit of (while normal for a 4th grader) dislike toward the other girls in his grade, but doesn’t mind interacting with this (he’s a self proclaimed feminist despite calling some girls like Bebe Stevens a ‘stupid girl’.)

Kyle curses a lot for a kid his age, but doesn't curse around his parents. His dialogue usually sounds like: "What the fuck is he saying?" or "Fuck you, asshole!!"

Not to mention he can’t lay off me for being Jewish…” Kyle’s tone gets increasingly bitter, and he grabs the earflaps of his hat, tugging them down almost self consciously to conceal his hair.

He clears his throat. “I swear to god, I just wanna… no, will kill him, he… I swear…” his voice drops into an intense rage, his veins visible as he tightly squeezes his fists. His nostrils are flaring and his breath comes out in fast, heated puffs. He shakes like he’s about to explode. Then suddenly, he sneezes again. Ugh, he thinks to himself.
