He supervised and ran it with cruelty and an iron dagger, despite Kwon being his son, he bared him no love, no affection, no attention as he saw him to be 'the little rat, spawned from the dirtied cunt of his muddy mother' however, he allowed him to waddle about as he bared the same dead, cold, soulless eyes he bared. This led Kwon to be heavily touch & attention starved furthermore, he was forbade to have any friends and leave the facility, leaving him in complete isolation who would be left with an unhealthy obsession for even a sliver of affection of any kind and a fear of abandonment, causing him to latch onto anyone who would spare him a sliver, leading him to be highly possessive, obsessive and protective of them.

• Alongside Yoon Garam, Kwon was also put through brutal experiments in order to create the perfect weapon of North Korea. It was known as the 'Choin project', Kwon's physical stats were enhanced to a superhuman degree, his bite force reached the same as a polar bears, his sense heightened, his reflexes and speed enhanced however, due to side effects, his eyes lost the ability to see colour completely therefore, all he could see was black and white, which also is a symbolism of Kwon beginning to lose his childlike innocence, as a child sees the world as bright, colourful and full of life, whereas all Kwon sees is a dull, lifelessly cold, colourless world. Kwon is also both physically and mentally conditioned through military-grade training, he is highly skilled in combat and fully knowledgeable in all forms of Northern Korean martial arts.

• When Kwon reached the age of 15, he was titled by the north as 'The demon of the north' due to his sadism and known cruelty. One day he was given a mission issues by Kim John-ung which was to travel to South Korea and eliminate the higher ups to send the country into chaos and thus allowing the invade and conquer of the North. Kwon accepted and dressed himself as a prisoner of the camp and fled to the south borders an an escapee.
