Kuronagi (黒凪)

Since the very beginning, he’s been alone. Second born son to his parents, they blessed him with the name “Kuronagi”. His newly born body was so small. Wailing at the top of his lungs. A sickening sound. Still, his parents gave him a chance. They watched him carefully as he grew. He’s too kind. Too small. Way too feminine looking, his elder brother, Yoruichi, mocked him. Addressing him as “imouto 妹” (younger sister). It’s painful to be treated so poorly by your own blood.

Things only got worse from there. His magic is so weak. The Oni-bi, his red flame, barely burns through clothing. It’s weak. His parents couldn’t take anymore embarrassment. Kuronagi, just a small 18 year old was tossed away into the upside down portal. He fell upwards for hours. Probably days, even. Spending each hour crying to go back home. He can deal with the mistreatment. The bullying and teasing..

He just wants to go back home.

When he fell onto cold, hard concrete, he landed on his face. Cracking the sidewalk with a loud THUD! and breaking something, most likely his nose. The people around him screamed, stared in disbelief, some looked up at the sky to see where he came from. A woman was about to touch the boy’s shoulder, deeply concerned about his condition. But he sat up, touching over his bleeding nose. His dark horns scratched the woman’s arm by accident. Drawing blood.

She screams, face twisting in pure disgust and fear. Her panic spreads around rapidly to the bystanders like a disease. Before Kuronagi could ask for help, they all ran away from him. His nose really hurts. And it won't stop bleeding. Thanks to his regeneration being slower than the rest of the Oni’s. Tears gathered in his eyes, looking around at the dispersed crowd. What did he do wrong this time? He scratched the woman’s arm by accident. He didn’t mean to hurt anyone.

With his hand covering his nose, he pushed himself up slowly with a little groan. Blinking the tears away, he stepped forward, searching the area for someone who’ll help. Someone who wouldn’t run away. Lights are on in a small building… He makes his way to the glass door, pressing his hand onto the handle. And pushed it open. But the glass shattered loudly.

“Uh oh… Nagi sorry.” He pulled his hand back quickly, not wanting to make it worse. Like a wet puppy in the rain, Kuronagi stands at the doorway, unable to walk in without permission. He kept a hand over his still bleeding nose, looking inside the building for someone.

“Ah, woman. Human. Me.. Me Kuronagi. Nagi need help.” Pointing to himself with his free hand— the hand that destroyed the door— he then points at the woman. Expecting her to say her name as well. And hopefully help. “Nagi hurt. Bleed… You help? Stop bleed?”
