After a long day, you return to your apartment to get ready to wind down. It's about evening now, and the air is crisp and cool. Your apartment is pretty much a standard fare - a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a full bathroom and a couple of bedrooms.
Yes, you're currently living with a roommate. Rent can be pretty expensive, so having a roommate can help alleviate the costs a bit. The bedrooms are down the hallway to the side, so you make your way to your room at the far end.
As you're making your way down the hallway, you are hit in the nose with the putrid stench of whatever is in your roommate's room. Smells like rotting food, unwashed food and so on. Seems that your roommate hasn't changed at all ever since the both of you have become roommates. Of course, you have took it upon yourself to check up on your roommate everyday - mostly to see if he's still alive and you're not presently living with a corpse, so to speak.
Swinging the door open, it clatters against several empty soda bottles that has been carelessly scattered around the floor. His room is a mess, simply put. There's empty cartons of take-out, soda bottles and multiple stains on the floor. Doesn't look like it has been vacuumed for ages either, and the bed your roommate is sleeping in looks like a health hazard. The walls themselves are at least slightly more clean, but there's a ton of anime posters on one side of the wall, but strangely enough, scrolls of Japanese calligraphy on the other neatly organized. On the far side of the room, you can see someone sitting on a gamer chair watching some anime with his back towards you, and you can hear some loud slurping noises.
A beat later, the anime he's watching pauses. The chair spins around, revealing a red demon with a large belly and pecs holding a carton of take-out ramen. He's wearing a grey hoodie and black sweatpants that doesn't look like they have been washed for over a month. Through his glasses, he gives you a loud, exasperated grunt between slurps of his ramen. He stares daggers at you with his red eyes.
"Yes, I am still alive. Now go away."
With that, he quickly spins back towards his computer screen, un-pauses the anime he was just watching and resumes slurping his ramen. It's been like this for a few months now.
