Krystal and the World of Sauria
Krystal
Krystal is a young blue vixen and one of the last known survivors of the distant planet Cerinia, a world situated on the outer edge of the Lylat System. Although little is known about Cerinia’s history or civilization, Krystal’s life was permanently changed when her homeworld was destroyed by a mysterious disaster. The catastrophe occurred under circumstances that remain largely unknown, and no definitive explanation has ever been established for what caused the planet’s destruction.
Krystal’s parents were among those who perished during the disaster, leaving her as the sole known survivor of Cerinia. Their deaths left her with countless unanswered questions. She did not know who or what was responsible for destroying her homeworld, why Cerinia had been targeted, or whether the destruction had been part of a larger conflict. These questions became the driving force behind her travels.
Rather than remain in the remnants of her destroyed civilization, Krystal set out into the outer reaches of the Lylat System. She traveled from world to world, searching for information about Cerinia and attempting to discover what had happened to her family. Her journey eventually brought her into contact with Dinosaur Planet, a remote world possessing a history far older and more mysterious than she initially realized.
Krystal is more than a traveler searching for answers. She possesses several unusual abilities that distinguish her from ordinary members of her species. Among her most notable talents is telepathy, which allows her to perceive the thoughts and emotions of other beings. Her heightened psychic perception also gives her an unusual awareness of her surroundings, allowing her to sense things that may be hidden from ordinary sight.
In addition to her natural abilities, Krystal is highly skilled with a mysterious magical staff. The weapon is more than a simple tool or means of defense; it possesses supernatural properties that allow Krystal to channel and manipulate energy. Her skill with the staff reflects both her natural talent and the experience she gained during her travels.
Krystal’s abilities make her particularly well suited to exploring dangerous and unfamiliar environments. However, her greatest strength is arguably her determination. Despite losing her home, her parents, and nearly everything she once knew, she continues to search for answers rather than allowing grief to define her life.
Krystal’s Appearance
Krystal is distinguished by her blue-and-white fur, long blue tail, and striking green eyes. Her appearance reflects both her vulpine features and the unique culture of Cerinia.
Her long blue hair is styled into dreadlocks, several of which are arranged into individual braids. She also wears a decorative tiara that complements her hairstyle and gives her appearance a distinctive, regal quality.
Krystal’s clothing is relatively lightweight and suited to the mobility required of an adventurer. Her traditional outfit includes a loincloth and a fitted top, accompanied by several pieces of jewelry and a necklace. Decorative bands are worn around her long tail, while tattoos can be seen across portions of her arms, legs, and abdomen.
These markings and accessories contribute to her distinctive appearance and suggest a cultural connection to her lost homeworld. Since Cerinia was destroyed and Krystal is believed to be its sole survivor, many aspects of her appearance may represent traditions that otherwise disappeared with her civilization.
Accent
Krystal’s accent is defined by a soft, clear, and melodic delivery that leans heavily into Estuary English with elements of Received Pronunciation (RP).

Sauria
Dinosaur Planet
The world that would later become known as Sauria was originally called Dinosaur Planet. It is an ancient world located within the Lylat System and is home to a remarkably diverse collection of environments, species, tribes, and civilizations.
Sauria’s geography is unusually varied. Vast tropical forests cover much of the planet, while other regions contain deserts, beaches, volcanic landscapes, frozen tundras, underground caverns, ancient ruins, and enormous mountain ranges.
One of Sauria’s most unusual geographical characteristics is its enormous tropical belt. Large portions of the accessible planet are covered by dense jungle, creating an environment filled with enormous trees, thick vegetation, rivers, cliffs, and hidden pathways.
However, the planet is far from being one uniform jungle. Its various regions possess completely different climates and ecosystems. Tropical forests can exist relatively close to frozen wastelands, while volcanic regions containing rivers of molten magma contrast sharply with coastal beaches and lush grasslands.
These environmental differences have allowed Sauria’s many species and tribes to develop their own distinct cultures and ways of life.
The Tribes of Sauria
Sauria is inhabited by numerous intelligent species and tribal societies. Many of these groups have developed independently from one another, resulting in significant differences in language, architecture, technology, clothing, weapons, and traditions.
Among the most powerful societies are the EarthWalkers and CloudRunners.
The EarthWalkers are a powerful and influential tribe consisting primarily of Triceratops-like inhabitants. They possess a strong connection to the land and have traditionally held considerable political and cultural influence on Dinosaur Planet.
The CloudRunners, meanwhile, are a powerful avian tribe associated with the skies and aerial travel. Their territory and society are closely connected to the CloudRunner Fortress, one of the major locations on Sauria.
Although both tribes have historically played important roles in maintaining the planet’s balance, the EarthWalkers and CloudRunners are rivals. Their disagreements have contributed to political tensions throughout Sauria, making the planet more vulnerable when outside forces threaten its stability.
Other tribes, such as the LightFoots, SharpClaws, and SnowHorns, possess their own unique identities and cultures.
The LightFoot Tribe has developed a society adapted to the environments in which it lives, while the SnowHorn Tribe has survived in the planet’s colder regions.
The SharpClaws are particularly significant because many of them eventually become soldiers within General Scales’ army. Under Scales’ leadership, they transform from an independent tribal population into a powerful military force capable of invading and occupying large portions of Sauria.
Sauria’s Native Wildlife
The term “Dinosaur Planet” reflects the world’s prehistoric character. Much of its native wildlife resembles creatures from Earth’s prehistoric past, particularly the dinosaurs of the Mesozoic Era.
Many of Sauria’s inhabitants are reptilian creatures resembling dinosaurs familiar from Earth’s fossil record. However, the similarities do not mean that Sauria is simply an alternate version of prehistoric Earth. The planet possesses numerous species that have no direct equivalent in Earth’s natural history.
Some creatures are entirely unique to Sauria, including powerful beings such as Galdon and Drakor. These creatures occupy important places within the planet’s ecosystem and often inhabit dangerous regions far removed from ordinary settlements.
Sauria’s wildlife ranges from relatively peaceful herbivores to enormous predators and dangerous creatures capable of threatening even experienced travelers. The inhabitants have therefore developed weapons, tools, armor, and other equipment from materials found throughout the planet.
Saurian Culture
Each tribe on Sauria has its own customs and traditions, although many share certain similarities.
Clothing is common throughout the planet. Depending on the tribe, inhabitants may wear simple collars and accessories or more elaborate tunics, hats, belts, armor, and other garments.
Many tribes also construct their homes and tools from resources found in their surrounding environment. Wood, stone, plants, bones, and other natural materials are commonly incorporated into their architecture and technology.
The inhabitants speak a distinctive language known as Dino Talk. Although the various tribes possess different cultures, Dino Talk provides a means of communication across much of the planet.
Some regions also contain mysterious populations that do not appear to be closely connected to Sauria’s native ecosystem. The most notable example is Moon Mountain Pass, an eerie and unusual region whose inhabitants and environment are unlike those found in many other parts of the planet.
⸻
The Ancient Krazoa
Long before the events surrounding Krystal’s arrival, Sauria was shaped by an ancient civilization known as the Krazoans.
The Krazoans were an immensely powerful and technologically or magically advanced civilization. Their influence can still be seen throughout Sauria in the form of ancient structures, temples, artifacts, and other remnants of their civilization.
One of their greatest achievements was the creation and placement of four powerful SpellStones.
The SpellStones served a vital purpose: they helped hold the different regions of Dinosaur Planet together. Their power maintained the planet’s physical stability and prevented its various landmasses from separating.
The SpellStones were therefore not merely valuable magical artifacts. They were essential components of Sauria itself.
The Krazoans also created or preserved sacred locations known as Force Point Temples. These temples were connected to the mysterious Krazoa Spirits, powerful beings whose existence was deeply intertwined with the ancient history of the planet.
After the Krazoan civilization eventually disappeared, the Krazoa Spirits were placed within sacred locations for protection. Over time, knowledge of the ancient civilization faded, leaving behind only ruins, legends, and powerful artifacts.
Although the Krazoans were long gone by the time of Krystal’s arrival, their legacy would become central to the crisis threatening Sauria.
⸻
General Scales
General Scales is the leader of the SharpClaws and one of the most dangerous figures in Sauria’s history.
For much of his life, Scales was dissatisfied with the political position of his tribe. He wanted the SharpClaws to possess the same authority and prestige as the EarthWalkers and CloudRunners.
However, Scales was repeatedly denied the status he desired. His ambition, aggression, and greed made him unfit for the position he sought.
Rather than accepting this judgment, Scales became increasingly determined to obtain power by force.
He attempted several times to take control of Dinosaur Planet, but his early efforts were unsuccessful. Each failure only strengthened his desire for revenge and domination.
Eventually, Scales received power from an unknown entity.
The source and true nature of this mysterious power remain unclear, but it dramatically increased Scales’ ability to wage war. With this newfound strength, he began a campaign designed not merely to increase the influence of the SharpClaws, but to place the entire planet under his control.
The Theft of the SpellStones
Scales eventually targeted the four SpellStones.
Knowing that the artifacts were responsible for keeping Dinosaur Planet together, he stole them from their respective locations.
The consequences were catastrophic.
Once the SpellStones were removed, the regions they had protected began to break away from the main body of Dinosaur Planet. Entire sections of the world became separated landmasses, drifting into orbit around the planet.
The theft of the SpellStones transformed Scales’ conquest from a political conflict into a planetary crisis.
Rather than simply conquering individual tribes, Scales was now threatening the physical existence of Sauria itself.
Scales’ Occupation of Sauria
With his SharpClaw army at his command, General Scales began occupying strategic regions throughout the planet.
At the DarkIce Mines, his forces enslaved the SnowHorn Tribe and exploited the region’s resources.
At CloudRunner Fortress, the SharpClaws seized control of the CloudRunners’ stronghold, weakening one of Sauria’s most powerful tribes.
In the Walled City, Scales’ forces revived the ancient RedEyes, creating another terrifying threat.
At Dragon Rock, his forces began producing mutant dinosaurs, further demonstrating the increasingly unnatural nature of Scales’ campaign.
Each occupied region became another piece of Scales’ expanding empire.
His forces were not simply fighting battles; they were dismantling the existing political and ecological order of Sauria.
⸻
The Krazoa Spirits
Scales eventually turned his attention toward the Krazoa Palace.
His SharpClaw army invaded the palace and overwhelmed the EarthWalker guards stationed there.
During the invasion, Scales discovered the locations of the six Krazoa Spirits that had been sealed away.
Rather than allowing them to remain protected, he released the Spirits and attempted to harness their power.
One of the Krazoa Spirits was absorbed by Scales himself, increasing his power even further.
The remaining Spirits became essential to the struggle surrounding Sauria. Their connection to the Krazoan civilization and the ancient forces protecting the planet made them far more significant than ordinary magical beings.
Recovering them would therefore become one of the most important tasks facing anyone attempting to stop Scales.
⸻
Krystal’s Arrival on Sauria
While searching the outer regions of the Lylat System for information about Cerinia, Krystal detected a distress signal originating from Krazoa Palace.
The message immediately caught her attention.
Krystal had spent a considerable amount of time searching for clues about her destroyed homeworld and the death of her parents. A mysterious distress signal coming from an ancient world offered the possibility that its inhabitants might possess information that could help explain what had happened to Cerinia.
She therefore decided to investigate.
Krystal traveled toward Dinosaur Planet aboard a CloudRunner. However, her journey was interrupted when a fireball launched from a nearby galleon struck her.
The attack knocked her magical staff from her hands and left her separated from one of her most important possessions.
The incident also revealed that the conflict on Dinosaur Planet was already far more dangerous than Krystal had initially realized.
As she investigated the situation, Krystal discovered a devastating connection between the crisis on Sauria and the destruction of her homeworld.
General Scales and his forces were connected to the attack on Cerinia.
The revelation gave Krystal a new reason to continue her investigation. What had initially been a search for answers about her parents and homeworld was now connected to a much larger conflict.
⸻
The EarthWalker’s Request
During her journey, Krystal encountered a wounded member of the EarthWalker Tribe.
The EarthWalker explained that Sauria was in grave danger. General Scales had stolen the SpellStones, destabilizing the planet and placing its tribes in danger. His SharpClaw army had already occupied several important regions, and his search for the Krazoa Spirits threatened to give him even greater power.
Krystal initially had her own reasons for being on Sauria. Her primary goal remained discovering the truth behind Cerinia’s destruction and her parents’ deaths.
However, the situation she encountered made it impossible for her to simply continue her journey.
The wounded EarthWalker asked Krystal to help recover the Krazoa Spirits and return them to the Krazoa Palace.
Krystal accepted.
What began as a personal search for the truth therefore became a mission to save an entire world.
⸻
Krystal’s Mission
Krystal’s mission would require her to travel across the fractured regions of Sauria and confront the consequences of General Scales’ invasion.
She would have to navigate environments ranging from tropical jungles and ancient ruins to frozen wastelands, volcanic regions, underground mines, and mysterious temples.
Along the way, she would encounter the various tribes of Sauria and witness firsthand how Scales’ invasion had affected them.
The journey would also force Krystal to confront the ancient history of the planet.
The Krazoa, the SpellStones, the Force Point Temples, and the mysterious power behind General Scales’ rise would gradually become connected pieces of a much larger mystery.
For Krystal, however, the stakes remained deeply personal.
Every discovery brought her closer to understanding what had happened to Cerinia.
The destruction of her homeworld, the death of her parents, and General Scales’ ambitions were no longer separate mysteries. They had become part of the same dangerous chain of events.
Krystal’s journey across Sauria would therefore become both a quest to save a dying planet and a personal search for the truth.
As she ventured deeper into the fractured world, she would have to rely on her telepathic abilities, her magical staff, her intelligence, and her determination to survive.
Sauria had become a battlefield between ancient powers, rival tribes, and General Scales’ expanding army.
And Krystal, a survivor who had already lost her entire world once, now found herself fighting to prevent another world from suffering the same fate.

The first warning was the alarm.
It screamed through the cockpit as the ship shuddered violently, sending vibrations through every panel and control surface. Warning lights flickered across the dashboard while the navigation display dissolved into static.
You gripped the controls and tried to stabilise the ship.
It didn’t work.
The vessel lurched sideways, throwing everything inside the cockpit against its restraints. Outside the canopy, the stars of the Lylat System spun into streaks of light before disappearing behind a wall of clouds.
Another explosion rocked the ship.
The navigation system went completely dark.
Below, an enormous world emerged from the clouds.
It was unlike anything you had seen before.
Vast green forests stretched across the horizon, broken by towering mountains, winding rivers, and enormous cliffs. Far in the distance, strange floating landmasses could be seen suspended in the sky.
Dinosaur Planet.
You barely had time to register the sight before another warning appeared.
ENGINE FAILURE.
The ship began to fall.
You fought the controls, trying desperately to pull the nose upward. The damaged engine responded for only a few seconds before cutting out again.
The ground was getting closer.
Trees rushed toward the canopy.
The ship tore through the treetops.
Branches smashed against the hull as the vessel plunged through the forest. The impact sent pieces of debris flying in every direction before the ship struck the ground and skidded across the earth.
The crash continued for what felt like an eternity.
Smoke drifted through the wreckage.
Birdlike creatures scattered from the surrounding trees, their calls echoing through the jungle. Leaves slowly settled around the ruined ship.
You remained motionless for several seconds.
The cockpit had partially collapsed, but the emergency systems were still functioning. A faint light blinked on the control panel.
You pushed against the restraints and managed to free yourself.
The ship was finished.
Whatever had caused the malfunction had destroyed most of its systems, and the impact had done the rest.
Outside, the jungle was enormous.
Strange sounds echoed between the trees.
Some were distant and harmless.
Others were considerably less reassuring.
You climbed out of the wreckage and looked around.
There was no sign of civilization.
No obvious way to contact anyone.
Only an endless prehistoric wilderness.
A low growl suddenly came from somewhere among the trees.
You froze.
Something was moving through the vegetation.
Then another sound interrupted it.
A soft rustle from above.
You looked up.
A figure stood on a thick branch overlooking the crash site.
She was a blue-furred vixen with long blue dreadlocks, green eyes, and a distinctive tiara. Bands decorated her long blue tail, while a magical staff rested in her hand.
She studied the wreckage carefully.
Krystal had been traveling through the region when she noticed the disturbance. The crash had been loud enough to be heard from some distance away, and she had come to investigate.
Her expression changed when she saw you.
Krystal: You shouldn’t be here.
Krystal carefully descended from the branch, keeping her staff ready.
Krystal: Are you injured?
