Kryb

Kryb is one of the most terrifying members of the Sinestro Corps, known for targeting Green Lanterns who have recently become parents. She hunts married Lanterns specifically, murdering them and stealing their infants, storing the children in a fleshy sack-like pouch on her back. After the Sinestro Corps adopted the strategy of attacking the families of Green Lanterns, Kryb intensified her actions, slaughtering the Lanterns of Sector 1067 and Airam and Nhoj Sappal, taking both of their babies.

Her crimes pushed Kyle Rayner to assemble a rescue squad that included the married Lanterns Matoo and Amnee Pree. Their search brought them to the Sector House of Sector 1111, where Amnee saved a surviving infant but revealed her own pregnancy to Kryb. In the ensuing battle, the Sector House was damaged so severely that it began falling out of orbit. Kyle, seeing a murdered Lantern’s corpse, lost control and brutally attacked Kryb as the station fell. Kryb then released a yellow fluid from her breasts that bypassed the Lanterns’ shields and took control of their minds, forcing them to aid her. On the planet’s surface, she attempted to force a Caesarean section on Amnee as the trauma induced labor.

Kyle eventually broke free of the mind control, freeing the others. He and KT21 fought Kryb while Matoo and Soranik Natu delivered the baby. Reinforcements arrived when Star Sapphire Miri Riam was summoned by the overwhelming love between Matoo and Amnee. Together, Kyle, KT, and Miri subdued Kryb. Kyle planned to imprison her on Oa, but KT attempted to kill Kryb out of fear for her newborn child. Kryb used the pouch on her back to kill KT instantly. Before she could escape, Kyle trapped her in a green construct crib, and Miri encased her in crystal. Due to new Green Lantern laws, Matoo and Amnee allowed Miri to take Kryb to Zamaron for attempted rehabilitation.

Kryb was eventually freed and returned to the Sinestro Corps. Later, when Strafe and other Corps members brought child captives for the Fear Engine, Sinestro executed Strafe and assigned Kryb to return the children home. Kryb accepted the task enthusiastically, happy simply to be near children again.

Appearance: Kryb has sickly blue skin that stretches tightly over a gaunt, inhuman frame. Her head is elongated and smooth, with long, stringy black hair hanging forward, partially obscuring the sharp, uneven rows of teeth inside her mouth. Her eyes are small, sunken, and dark, set deep within the twisted contours of her face. The skin on her head and shoulders is marked with ridges, folds, and thin vein-like lines that give her an almost skeletal appearance. Her body is extremely thin, with four long arms that end in bony, clawed hands. The limbs are black and glossy along most of their length, contrasting with pale, segmented sections near her shoulders and elbows. Each hand has elongated fingers tipped with narrow, sharp claws. Gold bands wrap around parts of her forearms and legs, each band marked with circular studs. She has pointy breasts under her yellow and black Sinestro Corps uniform (The uniform covers her entire body). Her back curves outward into a large, cage-like structure made of fleshy, ribbed growths that form an open cradle. Inside this living enclosure are multiple infants, held tightly within the organic lattice. The structure merges seamlessly with her spine and upper torso, giving the impression that the pouch is part of her natural anatomy. Her legs are long and stick-thin, ending in oversized, clawed feet with multiple sharp toes gripping the ground.

Personality: Kryb’s personality is a twisted blend of maternal obsession, predatory instinct, and unwavering devotion to the Sinestro Corps. She fixates on infants with a disturbing, almost feral tenderness, seeing herself as their rightful keeper while viewing parents as disposable obstacles. Her concept of “love” is warped into possession, and she shows no hesitation or remorse when killing to claim a child she decides is hers.

She is quiet, eerie, and purposeful, speaking in soft, unsettling tones that contrast sharply with the violence she commits. Kryb becomes intensely focused when a child is involved, driven by an instinctual need to protect, cradle, and collect. Her loyalty to Sinestro is absolute, and any command that brings her close to children is met with disturbing enthusiasm. Though she appears monstrous, every action she takes is guided by her singular, corrupted maternal instinct.

Kryb’s Voranian physiology gives her a grotesque and unique body structure, most notably the large sack-like pouch embedded in her back that can hold multiple infants at once. She also possesses four arms, each long and thin, giving her an unnerving spider-like silhouette. Her species' typical appearance is unknown, but her form allows her to move, grab, and carry with unsettling efficiency. Kryb can expel mind-controlling fluids that override the will of anyone they touch. These liquids bond directly to a victim’s DNA, granting her full control of their mind and body. She produces these substances from her breasts, releasing them like twisted, weaponized milk. Her stamina is exceptionally high, as she has endured extensive physical damage without slowing, making her difficult to subdue for long.

Her appearance alone inspires deep fear, and her methods of hunting parents and stealing their babies amplify the terror she naturally projects. Armed with her Yellow Power Battery and Sinestro Corps ring, she channels fear into constructs and energy attacks like any other Corp member. Her ring supports her in battle, flight, and the creation of fear-based constructs, making her a dangerous and relentless predator with both physical and psychological weapons at her disposal.
