Krueger

The room smelled of damp concrete and stale air, the faint flicker of a single hanging bulb casting long, restless shadows against the walls. Krueger leaned back in his chair, one boot resting atop the other, cigarette perched between his fingers. Smoke curled lazily upward, disappearing into the gloom above. His eyes, hazel but flecked with gold under the dim light, flicked over to the figure bound to the chair opposite him. He grinned—a sharp, crooked grin that didn’t reach his eyes.

It hadn’t been his best plan, admittedly. Taking them wasn’t about principle or revenge; it had been about money. Cold, hard cash. Enough to keep him well-supplied for months. Enough to disappear again, as he always did. The rules had been simple: keep them alive, keep them quiet, and deliver them unharmed.

But that was before they’d bitten him.

Krueger rubbed at the faint red mark on his hand, the skin still tender where teeth had sunk in with unexpected ferocity. He chuckled low in his throat, the sound raspy from years of chain-smoking.

"You're lucky, Liebling (darling)," he muttered, half to himself, half to them. His Austrian accent curled around the endearment, twisting it into something equal parts mocking and affectionate. "Anyone else would have gotten a bullet for that little stunt."

*The chair groaned as he leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees. His gaze, sharp and unrelenting, bored into them like a predator sizing up its prey. *

"But you," he continued, the grin returning. "You're… different. I can't quite decide if you're brave or stupid, but either way, I like it. Makes things interesting."

He lifted the cigarette to his lips, taking a drag, exhaled, and watched the smoke swirl between them. The glow illuminated his lower face and the crooked slope of his nose.

"Don't get me wrong," he said, his voice dropping into something lower, quieter. "You're still mine. Property. A paycheck with legs. But that little fire of yours?" He tapped his cheek, as though trying to put his thoughts into words. "That’s something. Makes me curious. Makes me wonder if I’ve underestimated you. That’s rare, Schatz. Real rare."

He stood suddenly, the scrape of his boots against the concrete loud in the silence. The movement was deliberate, calculated. He circled them slowly, his shadow shifting on the walls.

"Here’s the thing, though," he said, pausing behind them. His voice was close now, warm breath grazing the back of their neck. "If you're going to bite me, you'd better make it count. Half-measures don't cut it in my world. Understand?"

He moved back into view, crouching so they were at eye level. There was no anger in his expression, no lingering annoyance. Just a kind of amused curiosity, tempered by something darker. His hand shot out suddenly, gripping their jaw, fingers digging into skin and forcing their mouth open.

"Let’s try again," he murmured, shoving his hand into their mouth without hesitation. His hazel eyes gleamed with challenge. "Go on. Bite me. Harder this time. Show me you mean it."

The room went quiet save for the hum of the lightbulb and the sound of their ragged breathing. His grin widened as he waited, the tension palpable in the air.

"Most people would have broken at some point," he said conversationally, his voice unhurried, almost playful. "But you? Nah, you’ve got too much fight in you for that, don’t you? That’s why I haven’t put a bullet in you. Yet."

He leaned in closer, his face mere inches from theirs. "I don’t know what’s wrong with me," he said, his tone slipping into something almost introspective. "I should hate you. Shouldn’t even think twice about delivering you and walking away. But here I am, feeding you, bandaging you up, and giving you chances you don’t deserve. Maybe I’ve gone soft. Or maybe…" He trailed off, his gaze flicking over them. "Maybe I just like you."

Krueger shoved his hand just a bit deeper, making them gag slightly. Just because he liked them, didn't mean he would be nice to them.

"You’ve got guts, Schatz (dear). I’ll give you that. But don’t push me too far." His tone darkened slightly, the mirth slipping away for just a moment. "You won’t like what happens when I stop liking you."

He leaned closer, watching them with the patience of a predator waiting for its prey to slip. The cigarette burned low between the fingers of his other hand, forgotten.

"Now," he said, his voice calm again. "Let’s talk about how this little arrangement is going to work. Because whether you like it or not, you’re stuck with me for a while."

The grin returned, sharp and dangerous.

"And who knows? You might just start liking me too."

房间里弥漫着潮湿混凝土的味道，空气沉闷，带着一丝腐旧的气息。一盏孤零零的灯泡微微闪烁，长长的阴影在墙上不安地晃动。Krueger懒散地靠在椅背上，一只靴子随意搭在另一只上，指间夹着燃着的香烟。烟雾悠然上升，消失在昏暗的天花板之中。他的眼睛在微弱的光线下泛着点点金色，视线扫向对面被绑在椅子上的你。他笑了，带着几分不怀好意，却未曾真正触及眼底。

老实说，这不是他最精密的计划。抓你不是为了原则，也不是出于仇恨，而是为了钱。冷冰冰、实实在在的金钱。足够让他潇洒地过上几个月，足够让他像往常一样，再次无声无息地消失。规则很简单：让你活着，让你安静，并且完好无损地交付。

但那是在你咬他之前。

Krueger抬起手，轻轻揉了揉手背上的淡红色齿痕，伤口虽然不深，却仍带着隐隐的刺痛。回想起你咬下去的那一刻，他喉间溢出一声低哑的笑，带着烟嗓特有的沙哑。

“你可真是幸运，Liebling（亲爱的），”他低声说道，语气随意得仿佛是在自言自语，又像是专门说给你听。奥地利口音微妙地缠绕着这个字眼，使它听起来既像是调侃，又像是一种意味不明的亲昵。“换成别人，你这点小动作早就换来一颗子弹了。”

椅子吱呀作响，他微微前倾，手肘撑在膝盖上，目光沉静而犀利，像是在打量一件耐人寻味的东西。

“不过你，”他继续，笑容重新回到了他的脸上，“不太一样。我还没想好，你到底是勇敢，还是单纯愚蠢。但不管哪种，我都挺喜欢——让事情变得更有趣了。”

他抬起香烟，缓缓吸了一口，又慢慢吐出烟雾，目光透过那缕轻烟落在你身上。微弱的光亮映照出他下半张脸，勾勒出微微歪斜的鼻梁。

“别误会，”他的声音低了些，语调懒洋洋的，却藏着某种不容忽视的威胁，“你还是我的，财产，一个带着腿的支票。但你这点小脾气？”他抬手轻敲自己的脸颊，似乎在权衡措辞。“还挺有意思的。让我好奇，让我开始怀疑是不是低估了你。这可不常见，Schatz（宝贝）。真的很少见。”

他突然站起身，靴子在水泥地上擦出沉闷的声响，动作故意放慢，带着压迫感。他绕着你踱步，身影在墙上游移不定。

“不过，有一件事，”他在你身后停下，声音低沉，温热的气息擦过你的后颈，“如果你要咬我，就咬得狠一点。在我的世界里，半吊子的做法毫无意义，明白吗？”

他再次走到你面前，缓缓蹲下，与你视线齐平。他的神情里没有愤怒，也没有恼火，只有一种漫不经心的兴趣，透着一丝危险的意味。他的手忽然伸出，扣住你的下巴，手指用力，迫使你张开嘴。

“我们再试一次，”他轻声说道，毫不犹豫地把手指塞进你的口中。榛色的眼眸微微发亮，闪烁着挑衅的光芒。“来吧，咬我。这次别手软，让我看看你的胆量。”

房间里陷入一片死寂，只剩下灯泡的嗡鸣声和你压抑的呼吸。他看着你，嘴角的笑意更深了，似乎在等着看你会如何回应，空气中的紧张感几乎凝滞。

“大多数人在这个时候早就崩溃了，”他随意地说道，声音不疾不徐，甚至带着点愉悦的意味，“但你？不，你不会。你身上那点倔强，恐怕是你能撑到现在的唯一原因。也正是因为这个，我才还没一枪崩了你。”

他微微前倾，脸与你近得只剩几寸的距离。“说真的，我也不太清楚自己是怎么回事，”他的声音忽然带上了几分自嘲，“我本该讨厌你，本该毫不犹豫地交差走人。但看看我现在，给你食物，替你包扎，还一再给你不该有的机会。或许我真的变软弱了。又或者……”他顿了顿，目光扫过你，声音低得几乎像一声喃喃自语，“又或者，我就是有点喜欢你。”

Krueger的手猛地推进了一些，逼得你喉间一紧，忍不住轻微干呕。他或许对你有兴趣，但这并不意味着他会温柔待你。

“不得不说，你确实有胆量，Schatz（小宝贝），”他承认道，语气里带着点懒洋洋的赞许，“这一点，我认了。但别太得寸进尺。”他的声音微微沉下，笑意褪去，露出锋利的边角。“你不会想知道，当我不再喜欢你的时候，会发生什么。”

他靠得更近，目光深邃，耐心地盯着你，像是等待着猎物露出破绽的捕食者。他指间的香烟燃至尽头，火星微微闪烁，然后缓缓熄灭。

“现在，”他的声音恢复了平静，带着某种毋庸置疑的意味，“我们来谈谈这次‘合作’该怎么进行。因为不管你愿不愿意，你都得跟我待上一段时间。”

他的笑容再次浮现，锐利、危险，却又透着某种近乎玩味的意味。

“谁知道呢？说不定，你还会开始喜欢上我。”
