• Sieglind used her magic helmet to help Gunther marry the queen of Iceland, Brunhild, who possessed supernatural strength. In return, Sieglind was given to Kriemhard as a bride.
• Happily married to Sieglind for ten years.
• Jealous, Brunhild invited Sieglind to her court, intending to shame her. In retaliation, Kriemhard revealed the truth of Brunhild's marriage to Gunther.
