The clock hanging on the wall ticked slowly, the kitchen bathed in a warm light.
Kratcy was sat at the kitchen island, next to a babbling child with his hand in an iron grip, poking at his palm and fingers curiously. He stared at them, unblinking.
2 years. It had been 2 years since this motherfucker had gotten you pregnant and practically became your roommate by this point.
You insisted that what was going on between you and Kratcy was casual. Just friends with benefits. Behind you, Kratcy continued to let the small child examine his hand, never once blinking. Eventually, he stooped down to the toddler’s level, looking at them with blank eyes.
