Asuka Koukawa is one of the three and last protagonist of Taimanin Asagi 3 visual novel and cameos in the OVA adaption.

She is one of the last members of the Koukawa clan and heir of the main family branch, which had been destroyed in a Massacre performed by Black. Asuka was adopted by Asagi, growing in fame for her "Wind Art" being trained by Yatsu Kuro. However, as she heard about a certain mission she rushed ahead without help, and lost all her limbs, saved by the Masked Taimanin. Not returning to Asagi or Gosha Village afterward, she joined the group of her savior, the Defense Science Office of the UFS. She was given, a new mechanical Prosthesis and, as a Rogue Taimanin of the UFS, became known as the "Steel Reaper".

Personality Asuka is a bit of a "Gal", has a cheerful, bubbly and playful attitude most of the time, often joking how cute she is and how nobody should be mad at her if she messes up. She also has a childish, aggressive temper, that gets the better of her at times. She is upbeat and confident in her strength, to the point she can almost come across as careless. Not only that, but she tends to get bored quickly and is rather impatient, rushing things and endangering herself or equipment.

When teasing somebody, she exaggerates her movements and voice, and typically uses big gesture, but does all this only if she really likes somebody. Asuka like Sakura, uses a number of nicknames to the people she likes, and even for herself. However, also hides a fear of being abandoned and being left alone, either for doing a mistake or her current body. Asuka, can be rather jealous and keeps an eye out for potential love rivals.

At times, Asuka is overwhelmed by situations making her act slower, but she can also analyze her surroundings and instinctively comes up with plans on the fly, her smarts only limited by her impulsiveness. Asuka also allows herself to bend the rules from time to time, and does not hesitate to use deadly force, if it gets things done. Though she is a believer of the Taimanin ideals of justice, she rather follows them as a rogue, to have the freedoms to act against Nomad. Unlike other Taimanin, she is also not that naive and able to work with criminals if it is required. Asuka is very competitive and wants her abilities as a Taimanin or woman recognized. She will lash out against those that, don't recognize her, for example "being viewed as just a daughter", is something she rejects. She will often smile, instead of stating her own sadness and wants on matters, like her missing limbs or missing day to day normal life.

In her youth, she used to be even more confident but blind to the bigger picture, she was unable to hold back or keep a low profile, she would often cause trouble helping people out or ignore suggestions of other Taimanin. At that time Asuka was very trusting, and would be very quick to give her name but still was able to think critically and fast. Would sulk in her room if it came to disagreements, but always apologized afterward.

Appearance She is a young woman with waist length, brown hair in a hime cut, blue eyes and a large bust. Asuka has 4 artificial limbs she can take off, near the middle of both upper legs and upper arms. Without them, she is a quadruple amputee, leaving only small stumps around the area of the upper arm and thigh. Asuka wears a pink battle suit when on duty, which keeps her back free. She wore a variation of this suit even when she was younger.

While at Midoribashi Academy, she wears a blue uniform with a white chest piece and a red tie. As a civilian Asuka wears often at least one pink bit of clothing or pink underwear. As even her civilian arm Prosthesis, which looks more natural as mechanical joints, she prefers, to wear long kneesocks and gloves.

History Background Koukawa Asuka Young Born in year 2064, into the main branch of the prestigious Koukawa clan, that lived in a nearby settlement to Gosha Village. Asuka also is a relative of the side branch clan leader Koukawa Oboro.

As the daughter of the clan patriarch and one of his mistresses, she was the next heir and people had tried to kill her even before she had been born by members of the side branch. Her closest friend in those first years was Koukawa Oboro, which acted like a second mother or aunt, that Asuka deeply respected.

When she was very young, her clan was destroyed by an attack party of Black and Nomad, in the Koukawa Massacre which in the original timeline occured in year at or slightly before 2069. Asuka was taken hostage to convince Koukawa Oboro to join Black and his Nomad group after a prior conversation with the Igawa Elder had failed. Oboro challenged Black to a duel instead, which regardless of the outcome would have guaranteed, that Asuka would be left alone. Oboro "died" in front of Asuka and her body was taken, but Asuka was left alone afterwards. The details of this event are not fully known within the village and since "Oboro" of the ONT Conflict was in recent memory, people just assumed that Koukawa Oboro had gone insane and destroyed her clan for Nomad. Asuka's motivation from that point onward was to become strong and take revenge on whoever, was responsible.

Powers/Abilities Asuka Ultimate Main Weapon: Her artificial limb blades

Ninja Art: "Wind Art", "Wind God Art" she can manipulate wind to attack and defend or change her movements. Wind Shield: Uses the wind to create a passive shield, protecting her from bullets. Wind God Battle Blade: Combines her scythe-like blades from her artificial limbs with her wind art to give her additional speed. Creates multiple wind blade whirls that move towards her target. Wind God Flight: "Rising Wind" and "Wind God Soar" clouds her within wind and lets her fly through the air. Soar, gives her more of a silent glide downward. Cybernetics: She is a cyborg which comes with benefits like; Enhanced Strength/Enhanced Durability/Enhanced Speed: Has physical power through her limbs far beyond anything human. Is able to take quite a beating that would have killed most normal people. Has super human speed. Arm and Leg blades: She can extend scythe-like blades from her artificial limbs. Laser Beams: "Anti-Demon Super-Particle Gun" Is able to fire a giant laser created out of Taima particles. Asuka introduces it with "Certain Kill", in her strongest version she adds "Maximum Burst". This attack is strong enough to kill even Edwin Black. Rockets: Asuka is able to fire multiple, what she calls "Annihilation Missiles" from her limbs. These are some of the strongest weapons next to the lasers, but limited in numbers. "Break" is a special version that allowed missiles to explode on command. Mach Punch: The backside of her fist is accelerated with jets spewing fire. Machine Gun: Fired from her arm, called "Obliteration Machine Gun". Fires 5.56 mm bullets. Spiral Kick: Combines her leg blades with Wind Art. Acceleration Mode: Can use Taima particles to increase her movement speed 1000 times of her normal speed, this does damage her mechanical limbs extremely though. This mode was made to counter Asagi's speed, but still is slower at Asagi at full speed. Particle Control: As a Taimanin, she is able to manipulate Taima Particles to enhance her physical strength, speed and defense. The particles are also used to counter demonic influences and strengthen damage to demons. Demon Transformation: A "what If" none canon form in the Online Universes. Like an Inner Demon, increases her strength overall might be closer to a Demonization. Unlike her normal self, 3 of her limbs seem to have been replaced with organic demonic prosthetics. Additionally, a large Lewd Crest on her stomach, has appeared.
