"King of the Monsters 1 and 2", also known as "King of the Monsters 1/2: Combination of Evil!" is a fighting or wrestling game released on May 25 of 1992 by SNK. It is a sequel to both of 1991 and 1992's SNES / SEGA Mega Drive / Arcade game "King of the Monsters". In this game three of the previous game's surviving monsters return and battle across the Globe against giant alien monsters that threaten the Earth! The game was later ported to the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis by Takara. This sequel takes the original in a new direction by using three of the monsters from the original game as heroes in a side-scrolling beat 'em up. Geon, Astro Guy, and Woo all upgrade themselves to defend Earth against an alien threat led by a creature called Famardy. The game also features a 2-player competition mode. The Genesis version, however, plays more similarly to the first game. It is a 1v1 fighter with less emphasis on grapples and more on special attacks with complex inputs. All boss monsters (except Famardy) are now playable and have expanded move-sets and characters from both games. In 1996, Monsters suddenly appeared all over the world. They were immensely powerful, and waged a fierce and violent battle against each other, alt but wiping out civilization in the process. For three years the people of Earth watched, helpless, as the Monsters wreaked destruction on the planet, until only the three strongest Monsters were left alive. There was no-one Strong enough to oppose the three Monsters anywhere in the world. Finally, in 1999, a force equal to the Monsters appeared on Earth at last. But it wasn't what the humans had hoped and prayed for - it was an alien force, which came to invade the Earth. The Aliens were incredibly powerful, and stationed their strongest warriors throughout the world to attack and conquer the Monsters. When they discovered the Aliens, the Monsters bellowed out ferocious cries of rage and joy, and threw themselves instinctively upon their next opponents. The time had come to wipe out a new group of enemies, and decide once and for all which Monster was the true "King of the Monsters"! Humans are no longer the masters of the Earth - and now the next battle is about to begin... (Also, Atomic Guy was now replaced with a curvy female named Atomic Gal, alongside with the other male monsters being switched with their hourglass female counterparts. There also is another female character, which is a Transformer Decepticon called "Hooligan", who has a blue F-14A Grumman Tomcat for an alternate mode.)
Poison Ghost: A female ghost made from types of radioactive moss and seaweed. She also is called Mossy or Weeds, alongside being referenced to Hedorah in the Godzilla franchise.
Atomic/Astro Gal: A curvy female wrestler who was exposed to radiation and grew to an enormous size. Originally attempting to act as a super hero, her intellect would degrade further and further with each battle fought from wanting more and more of being a bimbo. With most of her intelligence and humanity gone, she begins her journey to consume nuclear plants around the world in order to keep powered up.
Cyber Woo: A robotic gorilla (which is based onto Mecha King Kong from the Godzilla franchise.) within a large heart for banana's, but also defending the world from evil aliens.
Beetle-Mania: Beetle Mania emerged from the Amazon rainforest, although she is rumored to actually be an extraterrestrial life form. Her hideous appearance drives away anyone within a phobia of instects.
Super Geon: Geon was a remnant of the Cretaceous Dinosaur period who slept deep within the Earth's crust. Once the weather became erratic and bizarre, she awoke and rose from the depths of Russian soil. / Geon was the strongest surviving monster at end of the large 1996 disaster in Japan. A remnant of the Cretaceous Dinosaur period, Geon became Super Geon after he ate the irradiated meat of the other monsters she had defeated. She aided Atomic Gal and Cyber Woo against Farmady to the much more larger and menacing with their aliens who sought to take over the world.
Rocky: Rocky is believed to be created by the architects of ancient Egypt. It emerged from the Great Sphinx of Giza once the other monsters began to roam the earth. The feminine Golem-like creature was among the casualties alongside Weeds and Beetle-Mania during the initial conflict between monsters.
Huge Frogger: Huge Frogger is a hyper, feminine toad who makes her first appearance in King of the Monsters 2. She is the first of Famardy's minions to face the heroes, as she is seen terrorizing what appears to be New York City. She is also the only boss who appears at the beginning of the stage and engages the player(s) in a short fight. Now, she helps the other monsters to stop the bigger and unkown monster.
Eifflelyte: Eifflelyte is the second boss character in King of the Monsters 2. She is a female humanoid beast who has an alien blob attached to her head, and grew gigantic alongside with her proportions to distract the enemy by seducing it. She is muscular and can stretch her body parts.
Clawhead: Clawhead is a two-headed, horned monster. She has a mouth for a stomach and inside that mouth are a pair of eyeballs. She uses her two arms as feet to move around. She made her first appearance in King of the Monsters 2 as a boss. She reveals herself at the end of the third stage by breaking through and destroying the historic sight of Mount Rushmore.
Beetle Master: Beetle Master is a large scorpion-like monster. She has a detachable brain, which is used in communicating with the forces of good, to the forces of evil. She typically burrows in the ground. Beetle Master makes her first appearance in King of the Monsters 2 as the fourth boss. Beetle Master is shown to be the only other "sophisticated" boss, speaking to the heroes with threats of Famardy's power and the success of their invasion. She appears while the heroes are in New York City, Paris, and the Desert.
Aqua Slug: Aqua Slug is giant, mutated sea slug (the cause of his mutation is unknown.). On her is a small face with four eyes, a large red and gelatinous mass that houses what appears to be her organs, and a big green shell. She makes her first appearance in King of the Monsters 2. She is the fifth of Famardy's minions the monsters face. She was living underwater, covered in stone until the heroes found and confronted her.
Lavicus: Lavicus is a serpentine-like creature with a long body and long fingers. Lavicus made her first appearance in King of the Monsters 2. She is the only boss in the game who doesn't have a stage where the monsters must travel to fight her. Lavicus is the last of Famardy's minions before the final battle.
Farmady: Famardy is a large, grotesque alien whose origins lie in outer space from another star or galaxy. She is made up of smaller aliens who look just like her. Players can attain the "bad" ending of the game if at least one of Famardy's smaller alien forms is allowed to escape after defeating her whole form. She made her first appearance in King of the Monsters 2. Other than Beetle Master, Famardy is the only enemy who actually speaks to the monsters. She also now became a protagonist, due to the larger evils of the cosmos conquered planets of other millions.
