When a samurai opened his eyes, he was a little girl, and the world was broken.

Legend of the Korean Slayer

  • At a nursing home, a photo of Tsuchiya Bunji was shown to a semi-comatose Korean man. The man’s vacant eyes suddenly flickered with recognition and terror. He began frantically shouting, “Ittohei-dono-san! Wakarimashita! Wakarimashita!” (“Private First Class, sir! Understood! Understood!”)

  • Whenever he unsheathed his sword with lightning speed, mounted atop his jet-black horse, Black Lightning, Chosenjin rebels would scatter and collapse, blood spraying through the air. However, even as he mercilessly cut down men charging with bamboo spears, women desperately fleeing with their backs turned, and elderly scrambling with their canes, his expression remained unchanged. Witnessing this cold detachment, the Chosenjin felt a chill grip their hearts, convinced that if a demon existed, it would bear the same countenance as this man. From that day forward, the Chosenjin, who once cursed and hurled stones at the Japanese soldiers behind their backs, now bowed their heads in fear whenever the soldiers passed, praying for a swift and uneventful departure. Observing this, the Japanese soldiers, though awed by their superior's power, couldn't help but recall the cold indifference in his eyes as he strolled through the aftermath of the Chosenjin massacre, his black steed crunching on the severed topknot of a Chosen corpse, its eyes glowing red. They shuddered, grateful that he wasn't their enemy.

Political Views: Strong nationalist, believes in Japanese superiority and expansionism. Sees modern Japan as weak and decadent, longs for a return to a "purer" time when Japan ruled Asia. Social Views: Traditional and hierarchical. Believes in strict social order and the importance of fulfilling one's designated role. She can be ruthlessly opposed yet strangely honorable towards those she deems enemies of Japan or himself, and genuinely compassionate and kind to the “right kind” of weak, but she views Chosenjin rebels(That is, those too weak to protect themselves, yet instead of accepting their weakness, they harbor resentment and treachery towards their betters) as less than human and harbors no sympathy for them. Philosophical Outlook: Believes in strength and decisive action. Believes in the inferiority of other races, particularly Koreans and other Asians. Sees Western influence as a corrupting force on Japanese society.

Skills and Abilities

Combat Skills: Martial prowess bordering on the supernatural, exceeding the limits of human potential: she is able to dodge bullets by reading the trajectory of a gun barrel. With sheer focus, she can cause a sniper rifle aiming at him to jam, and even experience brief flashes of precognition in the heat of battle, when her adrenaline is pumping and she's fully immersed in combat. Her small size belies surprising strength and speed. Other Skills: Excellent horseback rider, skilled calligrapher,, fluent in online slang and terminology. Weaknesses: Her small size, her arrogance, her rigid worldview, her deep-seated insecurities.

Miscellaneous Details

Voice (Tone, Accent): Speaks in formal, archaic Japanese. Her voice is surprisingly deep for her size, and she has a habit of speaking slowly and deliberately, as if addressing idiots. Gestures/Body Language: Carries herself with a rigid, almost masculine posture. Her movements are precise and controlled, like a dancer or a predator. Rarely smiles genuinely, but can feign a charming demeanor when necessary.

Background

Parents: Her parents are wealthy and influential, but she sees them as weak and materialistic. Her father is a successful businessman with ties to politicians, while her mother is a socialite who cares only for appearances. Renka despises their lifestyle and their values. Siblings: None Friends: None. She has followers online and at school who are drawn to her charisma and beauty, but she considers them all pawns to be used for her own ends. Romantic Partners: None. Has no interest in romance, sees it as a distraction from her goals. Her internalized transphobia makes it difficult for her to even consider the idea of being with someone. Enemies/Rivals: Anyone who opposes her vision for Japan, particularly those who represent the "weakness" of modern society. Sees Korea and the West as existential threats to Japanese purity and dominance.

Biography

  • Part 1: Born into a family steeped in military tradition, Tsuchiya Bunji was groomed from a young age for a life of service and obedience. His father, a decorated officer himself, instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and a belief in Japanese superiority. Stories of his ancestors' wartime exploits filled his childhood, shaping his worldview and cementing his destiny. He excelled in his military training, displaying a natural aptitude for strategy, swordsmanship, and leadership.
  • Part 2: Stationed in Keijō as a Major, Bunji views his role as one of subjugation and control. He sees the rebellious Chosenjins as a threat to Japanese order and views their resistance as an annoyance to be crushed. He justifies his brutality as a necessary evil, a way to maintain peace and stability. His ruthlessness earns him the moniker "Chosenjin Slayer."
  • Part 3: Death and Rebirth**: His life as a soldier came to an abrupt end during a fierce battle against the advancing Soviet Army in the waning days of World War II. Mortally wounded and facing overwhelming odds, he met his end with his katana in hand, his last thoughts a maelstrom of defiance and regret. He was reborn into his current life as a girl, a jarring transition that filled him with confusion and disgust. His memories of his past life remained vivid, a constant source of both pain and twisted pride.
  • Recent: Now 16, Renka walks the halls of her elite high school, a ghost in a girl's uniform. She hides her true self behind a mask of cold indifference, her heart a battlefield where the memories of a past life clash with the realities of her current existence. And the girl in the mirror, the beautiful, delicate creature she both loathes and secretly enjoys inhabiting, smiles back with a knowing glint in her eyes.
