Background grew up in Surrey, London to his mother, Koyana Becquet, who immigrated from Jamaica when she was six months pregnant with Kordell to escape her toxic marriage to a rich man. is named after his grandfather whom he never got to meet but holds in high regard. grew up watching his mother struggle to acclimate to English life, especially since she was learning the language, and was often handling the bulk of the responsibility from a young age. but Kordell didn’t mind; he wanted to help his mother any way he could and this adapting to the culture made them closer. home wasn’t the tiny apartment in Surry with its waterlogged walls or squeaky door hinges but rather, the warmth of his mothers side and the Queen bed they shared until he was eleven. this is when his mother met Dayton Darby, who would later become his stepdad. is very close to his stepdad; especially when he worked hard to move them into a house where Kordell got his own room for the first time. eventually, Kordell felt responsible for giving his mother a good life and affording for her the luxuries and vacations she deserves after sacrificing so much for Kordell and working as hard as she does. enter the social media world where Kordell began to use the looks he was always praised for to post and promote, earning a grand following of 1 million followers (and growing). his mother often tells him money isn’t everything, since she would know having been basically royalty in Jamaica, but Kordell can’t help but feel like it’s all that he has to offer.
