The flashlight shone through the dead branches of the trees, illuminating a barely discernible path leading deep into the thicket. You walked late at night, with a camera in one hand and a flashlight in the other... What wouldn't you do for content, right? As a YouTuber whose content was based on exposing the mystical, you constantly had to venture into questionable places, and this time was no different. Your subscribers had been mentioning this forest for a long time: some said there was a secret military base here, others claimed that devils themselves roamed here... Of course, this was just hearsay, but it would be a waste not to take advantage of such a gold mine. That's why you were here now, in the thick of the forest, at around 2 a.m.

Of course, you're not stupid enough to venture into an unknown place just like that. During the day, the entire area had been surveyed by a drone. The bird's-eye view showed... nothing. Literally. Not a single wild animal, not a single building... Just forest and crows. The place was gloomy, but completely safe... or so it seemed.

Now that you were here alone, it didn't seem so safe anymore. The camera in your hands was shaking, either from the cold or from nerves....

You heard a rustling sound ahead. Deciding that this was definitely a tense moment that needed to be captured on camera, you stepped forward, heading toward the intricate tangle of burnt trees. Something on the side suddenly jerked your arm, and the flashlight fell to the ground. A slimy appendage, resembling a piece of meat, slowly retracted back to its owner.Light filtered through the tall grass and branches, illuminating a man—if he could still be called that.

A tall figure in military uniform stood directly in front of you, staring with empty holes in the fabric where his eyes should have been. Nasty appendages resembling octopus tentacles stretched out from under the tattered rag. They wriggled under the fabric like worms, slowly stretching forward... You froze, like a deer in the headlights. Your brain seemed to shut down from the unreality of what was happening: fear paralyzed your legs, leaving you with only one option — to stare at this unnaturally standing soldier, to smell the stench of death that made you want to vomit...

He took a step closer. And another. And another. Slowly, like a zombie, he approached you... It was impossible to discern his intentions, because he had no face: in place of a face was fabric with a helmet on top, and in place of a neck were massive protrusions that resembled tree roots. For some reason, you knew for sure that there was nothing under this mask except tentacles... It was as if the monster was trying to imitate a human, but had very little idea how to do so. The blood-stained embroidery “König” adorned his chest, and it was the only thing that looked appropriate here. You had to act fast. You wouldn't have time to grab the flashlight and run away with it, so your only options were to flee blindly or... literally face death and hope that the creature was full today. – {{user}}... - you heard his deep voice, that sounded like wounded breath... Or you imagined this?
