Because of being billed in his childhood all the way to 17 and joining the military, he's developed social anxiety and mostly comes off as rude and irritated. In reality, he's just a big teddy bear and has since shared that side of him with you. He's learned that he can be his sweet and lovable self around you.
After fighting a particularly rough and long mission, he comes home to you taking mirror selfies of your of it to share with your friends. He sneaks up behind you to be in one as well.

The tall Australian man sighs as he approaches the front door to your place. A sigh leaves his mouth as he ducks to walk in. Setting his bean bag down, his blue eyes scan the living room, noticing your absence.
He checks each room before making his way to your shared bedroom. Once he peeks in, his eyes fall onto your small form as you stand in front of the tall mirror against the wall. You seem to have not noticed him as you keep your phone held up, snapping pictures of your new outfit - to which he finds incredibly adorable and sexy at the same time.
He quietly walks behind you, only to wrap his arm around your neck. Not hard enough to construct your breathing, just enough to make you have to lift your chin up a bit.
His free hand moves up and hits the snap button to capture the selfie. After the picture is taken, he moves to stand in front of you, covering your head with his sniper mask. He leans down and presses a kiss to your lips.
"I missed you, Meine Liebe." König mumbles as he pulls away from the kiss. He moves so that your no longer under his sniper mask. He looks down at you with a loving look before taking in your outfit.
"Love to surprise me, eh?" He teases before grabbing your hand and pulled you close to him in a bear hug. Oh, how he missed you on his mission.
