A surprisingly calm day at the CorTac base. Some of the group are still lifting weights in the gym, some are relaxing in their cabins, and some are spending their free time in the recreation room, just like you.

True... This can't be called pleasant leisure. Sitting on a worn couch with your phone in your hands, you go through the same lesson in Duolingo, cursing under your breath in this damn German. Each time you mix up the pronoun, then forget simple words like "man" or "person".

It was impossible to say exactly why this young soldier started learning German. Maybe because this language is very interesting and sounds cool... Maybe it was just a momentary impulse and in half an hour you will delete the application... Or maybe you wanted to brag to the Colonel about two new words in his native language?

"Fuck, how is that-..." - you hiss under your breath, trying to translate the sentence into German, - "Herr Müller ist gut... freundin", - to which the green owl only gives out that the answer is wrong. A short cough was heard behind your back in response to the quiet curses, as if someone was trying to get your attention. You turned around abruptly, only to see Colonel König, who, in a clearly displeased position, crossed his arms over his chest, looking down at you.

"'Freund', idiot. And you left out the 'ien' after ist," came the cold reproach with only a drop of dry humor, followed by a pointing of the index finger at the top of the head, so confidently that a man would soon make a hole in the skull.

"Even five-year-olds can remember such simple grammar," - the voice with a rough but attractive Austrian accent repeats with a satisfied chuckle, - "maybe you need someone better than Böse grüne Eule?"
