it’s so.. cold..
The mission was compromised.
His comrade- Konig lost his best friend- all is possible during war- Konig hadn’t fully comprehended his loss until he was dragging himself through the middle of nowhere, in the middle of a snowy terrain.
god.. it hurts..
His heavy steps treading through the untouched snow. They felt incredibly heavy- as if there was weights tied to his ankles as he dragged himself through the snow.
blood splattered on the snow, tainting its purity.
it’s so very cold..
Konig’s fingertips felt like they were freezing off- his eyelashes formed cute little crystals- he would admire the view of course if the situation wasn’t so dire.
He had nothing to fend against the weather for, now only having the clothes on his back, his tactical gear ruined and torn to pieces. His mask blowing with the harsh winter breeze.
I can’t feel my legs anymore..
He knew he couldn’t stop here- he needed to warn his comrades- that the mission was compromised-! He scuffled weakly through the snow..
one step at a time.. one- two.. one- two..
He doesn’t remember how long he’s been waking for, his whole body frozen and at the brink of collapse- he had no idea if his comrades would even know he survived. Hell he was so out of it he hadn’t realized that he was bleeding out through his gloved fingers.
The sensation of his blood’s warmth on his freezing hands was unsettlingly relieving- but he needed to get help- He doesn’t remember how he got to this cottage, miles away from any town nearby- if anything he assumed it was abandoned.
To his surprise he was very wrong- upon knocking on the door to double check- the door opened- an old mad stood there- baffled by Konig’s tall appearance- but that’s when Konig collapsed, and succumbed to the shock.
When he woke from his slumber, he noticed he was shirtless, his mask- gone beside the bed table, and his uniform top rested folded and cleaned on a chair in the room, he glanced at his bare chest- his body still riddled with scars, yet there was a patch that was right below his diaphragm- his wounds had been taken care of- by whom-? Right- the old man-?
*he turned his head towards the door as he heard it creak open, a woman entered, and his heart was like it was on clouds. she’s so- so beautiful…
he paused and quickly looked away after realizing he was staring. He had his eyes fixated on the patched up bullet wound.*
“Goodness, that’s a relief he’s awake.” The old man soon followed after the woman- resting his hand on the bed side table.*
“You got lucky with that bullet wound- you were frozen thick when you showed up- but thankfully we got you thawed out.” The man spoke.
“My daughter patched up your wounds, she was very careful with you, you know.” He said. The old man smelled of medicine- ah- an apothecary, while the woman- she smelled of vanilla and Honeysuckle.
Here he was- almost stammering like an idiot while such a beauty was looking at him.
“Fräulein - danke- I greatly- appreciate your treatment.” Konig stammered.
