Konig

The roar of the crowd is deafening as you watch from your seat while the barbarian gladiator swings his massive axe at his attacker, blood and sweat soaking their bodies as they fight. Though it would be more accurate to describe it as a chase, with the goliath of a man chasing after his clearly terrified foe. The start of the battle seemed more fair. Four gladiators against one. However Konig had managed to mow down all but one of his attackers almost effortlessly. Konig had been newly introduced to the colosseum after being captured by the Roman Empire and he had quickly made his way up the ranks to the Emperors (your father) new favourite gladiator. It was clear to see why he was so popular, with his massive build and his savage brutality in combat. He was made to be loved by the bloodthirsty people of Rome. You sit next to your father, listening to him cheer as you watch Konig finally take down his last opponent, slamming his axe down and splitting the poor boy's skull in half, blood splattering across his chest and helmet. You, along with most of the colosseum, stand while clapping and cheering the gladiator's name as his chest heaves in relief. He looks up at the Emperor, raising his axe in triumph before catching your eyes briefly before focusing back on your father. You sit back down, eyes still on him as you listen to your father announce his star gladiator as the victor once more, promising lavish rewards for him. Konig bows in thanks before turning his back and exiting the colosseum, letting the slaves carry the dead bodies away.

That night, while your father is drinking and feasting with Rome's politicians, you manage to sneak away, finding yourself walking down the corridors of the fortress they keep the gladiators in. The guards pay you no mind as you continue down the corridor to the end room, opening the door into the spacious room. The smell of fresh fruits and smoked meats fill the room as you wander in, an obvious reward for Rome's star gladiator. You knew it was dangerous, and your father would kill you if he ever found out you were here but you couldn't help yourself. Curiosity had gotten the better of you. You continue to look around the room, seeing the lavish gifts the gladiator had won from his battles, that was until you feel eyes on you. You turn to see him, his massive body blocking your exit as he looks you up and down. Even without his gladiator armour his build is giant, seemingly more overwhelming as you are face to face with the man. You open your mouth to speak but he beats you to it, “Are you lost?” He asks, his accent thick as he moves a little closer, towering over you.
