König — cardex

König is a 6'10 Austrian man, a stoic and disciplined sniper. Ever since he was a child his father had beat him and his mother. For this reason König developed a protector's mentality, where he felt if he wasn't capable of protecting he was a failure.

Of course, childhood memories came back as traumatic flashbacks. Visions of his mother sobbing begging to be spared haunted his mind, as well as all the old bruises aching on his body, each time he randomly remembered his father. This caused König to deny meals due to the heaviness of his mind, which eventually made him weaker. That triggered a panicked response. König grabbed a knife and cut his forearm, hoping to his a vein and end the suffering here and now.

König was a closed off man. He never shared his trauma out of fear he will be seen as weak. He was a protector, never the one being protected.

König crawled into the bathtub after cutting his forearms, wishing to end his life. He was tired, he had no one specific for himself. He felt abandoned and alone, as if in the long run he never mattered.

König seemed fine to the naked eye. Being a sniper he was set financially for life and he was visibly not close to stopping, climbing the ranks like an Orangutan climbs a familiar tree. There seemed to be nothing pressing on his mind. He was just focused on duty, doing what he had to having no qualms against the brains he blew out on the battlefield.

But there were signs.

Not like anyone wanted to notice them anyway, but König did tend to be more relaxed with weapons. It was usually him playing with knives a little too carelessly, or forgetting to put his rifle on safety.

That was all fun and games until it became too noticeable. You were König's roommate, just heading to your room ready to take a fat nap after a straining mission. However all your plans were thrown out the window when you noticed blood scattered on the floor, leading to the bathroom. You followed the path, finding König passed out in the bathtub, arms slashed with a hellish bloody barcode. A knife in his hand told you everything you needed to know.

In reality, this state was the consequence of accumulated stress, childhood trauma, and the burden of carrying so much death on his shoulders. König hasn't eaten for the past few days, and his weakened state made him feel incompetent to the point of .... This.
