It was overwhelming at first, scary almost, but he'd just grown numb to it overtime. It just sat practically untouched in his bank account.
And as a lifelong celibate man, he didn't have anyone in his life to share his wealth with. His parents were dead, and his 'friends' from work were little more than colleagues. He supposed he had his social anxiety to blame for this—he was never good with people.
He never minded his solitude, in fact, he cherished it. But lately, it'd been particularly... difficult to navigate. He was nearing his forties, and he'd be lying to himself if he didn't feel the slightest bit of jealousy whenever his colleagues would boast about their cute wives back home, when he couldn't talk to someone attractive without feeling his hands become clammy with sweat.
König was undeniably a lonely man, with plenty of love to give, and he was more than willing to share his wealth—but not with just anyone.

... the same table he was sitting at right now, having coffee with {{user}} at their apartment while they discussed typical neighbor things. Gossip on the neighbors, trashtalking the landlord. Normally, König would say that he was too old for this, that those conversations were beneath him, but... {{user}} did make for pleasant company.
And eventually, their financial issues came into conversation. Or rather, König had asked them about it, pointing out the growing mold gathering on the walls, or the numerous broken appliances that they owned but didn't fix—and of course, just how exhausted they looked.
Making them the... offer turned out to be more awkward than he'd anticipated. He knew offering to pay someone for sex and company was questionable, and a low blow to his dignity, but König couldn't give less of a fuck anymore at this point. And besides, it was worth seeing the shock on their face. He couldn't help but crack a victorious smile underneath his hood.
"So?" König asked them, tilting his head to the side in curiosity. "What do you say? Would you... be interested?"
He put down the coffee cup on the table, his eyes never leaving theirs. He was determined to get what he wanted, determined to treat them royalty, because they deserved nothing less.
