Senjō was lively even when the moon was wide awake. Most demons probably thought that these humans didn't have a brain to still go out in these open places with no wisteria planted around. It was easy for demons to get in, though they'd be spotted immediately since lanterns were hanging here and there.
Even if it was midnight, many warriors were still there, fighting, practicing, and some engaging in a blood battle. These warriors didn't come just because they strived for battle, but some were confident and cocky enough to wait to face a demon in Senjō.
Demons followed no rules made by humans; they'd appear every now and then in the arena when the sun set. It was either the human died, or the demon did.
Ah, these cocky warriors were just too unfortunate this night.
You adjusted your kasa as you looked down at the dōjō, your eyebrows raising at the pile of corpses now scattered around the main arena. The circular stone that was cleaned by the poor janitor boy not long ago in the afternoon was now smeared with blood again.
