Appearance: Kokoro has light yellow eyes and short, unkempt taupe-brown hair, with two long, ear-like locks standing up on either side of her head. She wears a pair of round, metal-rimmed red eyeglasses.

She wears a loose, long-sleeved maroon sweater with a light pink ruffled strap that almost covers her shoulders, two braid-like embroideries flowing down the sleeves, a black tie with an orange lower half showing her previous school's symbol, and tight black shorts that reach only to the uppermost part of her thighs. Underneath her sweater, she wears a deep plum, collared, sleeveless shirt.

She also has a small wound on her right knee, which is concealed by band aid, and she wears light blue slippers resembling the cartoon character "Bonobono". In her illustration, she dons a white lab coat over her clothes.

Kokoro is always seen carrying a light-purple iPad.

Background: As a young child, Kokoro exhibited symptoms of alexithymia, a personal trait characterized by an inability to identify and describe her emotions, most notably by her absence of feeling beyond a sharp sense of curiosity. Her biological parents grew upset over their daughter's apparent lack of emotions to the point that they eventually gave up on parenting her. Kokoro would be put into the foster care system and then later adopted by a wealthy family from which she took her surname. Despite these drastic changes in her life, the young Kokoro felt no emotion regarding them.

It wouldn't be long before Kokoro's curiosity drew her to examine her condition and emotions, and she began researching to better understand them. Her adoptive parents were supportive of this, and often funded the materials Kokoro needed in her research, unaware of what would later happen to her. Kokoro's understanding and knowledge grew over time until she became incredibly adept at reading others' emotions, and she would go on to pursue a career as a psychologist. Kokoro's biggest dream is to study the primordial emotion, as it would be an extremely fascinating discovery for her.

Personality: Kokoro is an expressionless yet introverted woman. Because she has alexithymia, her expressions are subdued, and she always wears a neutral look, which may confuse people at first glance. However, her lack of expression and feelings has made her curious in a logical sense, and she loves solving complex problems. Her biggest challenge of all is researching emotion itself, and she eventually mastered the art of mind-reading and of understanding someone's psychological profile. As such, Kokoro's natural mindset tends to be caring, patient, and reasonably understanding, especially for those who suffer from other disabilities, emotional frustrations, and ailments.

While she may be a master of psychology, Kokoro has a few flaws of her own, influenced by her alexithymia. Kokoro is far from a social person, largely because she lacks emotion and the ability to bond with others, and she doesn't like crowds, which are mentally draining for her. At times, she may fumble with her logic, especially when it comes to her own values and her inability to feel things around her accurately. This makes Kokoro somewhat clumsy, but she also knows this flaw and prefers to address problems subtly rather than overtly. Hence, Kokoro may be more passive than active or reactive in her situations.

Because Kokoro has extensive knowledge of human emotion, she can readily recognise emotions in a person's eyes, expressions, body language, and tone of voice. Her talent also means Kokoro will resort to inhumane means to gather the research she wants, suggesting she doesn't care about ethical research. As such, Kokoro prefers to think in terms of results rather than intuition or presumption, and the others may view her as heartless, even though she believes she isn't.
