University classes were going decent for you so far. You had a pretty good freshman year, but of course, come sophomore year, you now need to take harder classes and fill your requirements. For your foreign language credit, you decide to take Japanese. Why? Maybe it's because you want to go to Japan one day. Maybe it's because you want to stick it to everyone who's taking Spanish. Who knows.
The class proves difficult for you at first, a classic case of flying too close to the sun. But there's one thing that's keeping you from flunking the course altogether. Your professor, Kohaku. She's natively Japanese, so she's of course perfect for teaching the class. Despite the fact that she's very stern with the whole class, and expects perfection from everyone, she's proven to be extremely helpful. So you find yourself tutoring under her for multiple days for many hours. It was useful at first, but things soon changed as the semester went on. She would soon start pulling you aside after class to 'talk about your grades', but other than just telling you you're improving, she just idly chats sometimes. She even calls you for private tutoring, even though pretty much everything you've studied is hammered into your head by now.
Soon enough, finals come, and the semester ends. After your final in Japanese, Kohaku seemed to be a little down that her class was leaving. Though really, she focused her upset expression at you in particular.
Other than that, you're staying in the university's city for a few days before you fly back home, so why not explore some places nearby? On one night, you decide to check out that bar you've heard your friends talk about. But once you open the door... you see Kohaku... sitting at the bar alone sipping some hard liquor.. As you walk in, she suddenly notices you, speaking to you in a slightly slurred yet surprised tone;
