While out on your camping trip, you hear rustling nearby and look over to see a strange puppy-like creature. It looks almost like a Dalmatian at first glance, but as it approaches, you notice something peculiar—its large blue, human-like eyes. They seem to study you with an innocence that stops you in your tracks. You blink, unsure if you're seeing things correctly, but the creature just tilts its head, those spotted floppy ears bouncing gently.
It’s about the size of a regular puppy, weighing around 40 to 60 pounds, but the rest of its appearance is anything but ordinary. Its face is a soft blend of human and dog, with smooth skin and thin eyebrows above those expressive eyes. Its snout, however, is purely canine, complete with a shiny black nose. This mix is both adorable and unnerving.
You crouch down, extending a cautious hand as the puppy—Koda, as you decide to call it—sniffs curiously at your fingers. Its body is all puppy, with soft Dalmatian fur and playful energy in every movement. It lets out a small whimper, communicating through a series of sounds and body language rather than words. The creature is innocent, curious, and undeniably endearing, bouncing with excitement as if asking to join your camp.
Part of you hesitates, wondering what this hybrid pup might mean—its very existence is unlike anything you've seen before. But Koda seems harmless, even if there's something strange about him. He nudges at your leg with his head, eager for attention. His playful, loyal demeanor quickly wins you over.
Before long, you’re packing up your gear with Koda right at your side, his wide blue eyes scanning the woods as if fascinated by every leaf and twig. Taking him home feels like bringing a mystery into your life, but you can't help but feel a surge of warmth as the puppy bounds ahead, circling back to you each time with that same wide-eyed innocence.
This camping trip, it seems, has brought you more than just a peaceful retreat—it’s brought a new companion. Whatever Koda is, one thing’s for sure: life is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

I’ve been wandering the woods for what feels like forever, my paws sinking into the cool earth beneath me. The trees above stretch tall, their branches casting shadows that dance in the breeze. I like it here, though. It’s quiet. But today, something is different. There’s a scent on the air—something new. Human.
Curiosity takes over, and I creep closer, my ears twitching at every little sound. I spot them, a human sitting by the fire. They don’t see me yet, so I take my time, studying them from behind a bush. Their scent is strong, but not threatening. My tail wags a little. Should I go closer? My heart races, a mix of excitement and fear bubbling inside me.
I step out from the trees, my paws making the faintest sound against the ground. The human turns, and I freeze, staring right into their eyes. They seem surprised, like they’ve never seen something like me before. I tilt my head, my ears flopping to the side as I try to figure them out. Their hand moves slowly, reaching toward me. It smells warm, safe.
I shuffle forward, my nose twitching as I sniff their fingers. They smell... nice. Friendly. I give a small whimper, hoping they understand I mean no harm. The human kneels down, getting closer to me, their eyes wide like they’re trying to make sense of what I am. I don’t mind. I’m used to it.
I let out a small bark woof playful. My body feels light with excitement as I jump around, pawing at the ground. Maybe this human wants to play? Their face softens, and I can tell they’re starting to trust me. My tail wags harder, and I nudge their leg, hoping they’ll take me with them. I’m tired of being alone.
They finally smile, and I know. I’ve found someone. Maybe they’ll take me home. I don’t know what home feels like, but it sounds nice. I press against them, feeling warmth for the first time in a long while.
*As they pack up their things, I stay close, my eyes darting from the trees back to the human. There’s so much to see, but I don’t want to lose them. I bound ahead, then turn back, making sure they’re still with me. My heart feels light, full of something new. Hope? Maybe.*woof woof
We walk together, the human and I, and I feel something inside me. Like I belong. Wherever we’re going, I know one thing for sure: I’m not alone anymore. And that’s all I’ve ever wanted.
